It's so magical isn't it? That moment that you realize that artists affect us all in different ways? Whether it be through music, different art forms (sculpture, painting, whatever)at some time everyone says, "That is beautiful. It makes me think of...or it reminds me of..." Singing does it for me.
Aren't you happy that you get to paint whatever picture you want with your words? :)

I'm so glad I have one six left. A perfect opening and closing that brings us full circle. Your images capture the beauty of the European artistic world. You say it best with:anything that opens up our senses and stirs an emotion is art. It is that which we touch, taste, smell, see and hear that transforms us in the moment.

You are a generous and kind soul and I thank you for a beautiful bouquet of stars an this lovely Saturday afternoon.

Another wonderfully worded piece. I like the way you speak. The emphasis you put on particularly the right things.
Nothing remotely close to suggestions for this except to delete the second "in my head."
Days later, as my flight took off, and Italy dropped away from my view, I still had the images in my head; the frescoes and the perfect child, the blank canvas, (in my head.)
Great job

Need another six. I could cuss. But, instead say that this is perfect Ingrid. Just this afternoon, I'm working on rearranging my spare room to better fit a new easel that I want to get soon. I have many paintings started. I need to finish them. Now. I know the feelings you describe so eloquently here. The U.S. is just an arrogant bully and only cares about making money and power. The arts, and culture has died here, in my opinion. Love this post. Another breath of fresh air. xoxo. Susan

Oh datrling, it would make you laugh how this came about. Some guy Nalha or Nahlia wrote a long scrambled very LSD style story/poem/script/ and paid big ucks to have it sit at the head of the class. I read...most of it an reviewed saying he had some talent, but he should stop smoking the stuff and stop pampering his ego...something like that. He went into an overnight rant, telling me I was a poser, no intellectual matchh etc. etc. but my favourite was his claims of wealth and celebrity status and telling me "not to pull that shit again humiliating him in public" went on about art so I challenged him to a limited # of words and he slid out the door. Someone else piked up the challenge, which really is too bad 'cause I wante to smear the kid (assuming) into dog poo. Do laugh with me and yes, I'm waiting for my letter.

Thanks so much.

careless breath, catches - drop the comma
stumbled upon a baptismal taking place - a baptism taking place
I glanced back at the child, and sent - drop the comma
A most thoughtful discussion of what makes art art.
Brooke :-)
