Outstanding, Suze. I agree with your last Para in particular:
"And though the devil tries to sway all the good away--souls are strong, they rise above, to reach the moon and stars. And souls will cry before they die, but shouldn't be afraid. A soul connects the heart and mind, and gives the sun it's shine."
Great job, and Happy Mother's Day to you.
Incidentally, I haven't gotten a review in quite a few chapters and realize we are all busy...but I really would appreciate your input like I used to get. :) Bob

Hi there Bob! Thanks for this kind review! I do send apologies, I have been unable to sit and review lately because I've had several health issues. My back is giving out on me. Literally. I've picked up one too many heavy boxes. Please forgive me, I can write these tiny stories in minutes...it takes hours to read and review. I am thinking of getting a laptop so I can sit and not be in pain. Congratulations too on Book Of The Month! I did see where Joey is growing up. Nice work Bob!! Take care of your back...it's the key to all else...hugs and smiles...Susan

Love this. Your imagery sends the minds whirling and the poetry grabs at the soul and teaches us what that amorphous state stands for. Very good write and I enjoyed it very much.

Interesting definition of a soul. Life is indeed a fantasy to many. It's a shame the fantasy is not the happy ever after kind in spite of the hopes and dreams that it end that way.

Hi Sky! Thank you so much! I feel this way...like my life is a bad dream and maybe, just maybe I'll wake up soon! LOL! I wish. But I have to keep trying. I"m so glad you liked this...it's how I really feel. Now, that by no means I'm right!! :)) xoxo! Susan

Waking up from a bad dream is not easy when you are in a deep sleep and warmly snuggled up in a comfortable bed. Very few want to get out of their comfort zone. Most don't even want to open their eyes because they find the light too blinding. They prefer to hide from it. That's how I feel and I know I am right.

I agree. I'm really not the sunny person at all. Not right now anyway. I go to sleep and sometimes hope I don't wake up. I guess that's hiding too. Yet...I cannot sleep over 7 hours if that! It's awful!! Sleep tight! :) Suse

Only the dead rest in peace Suse. The living all go through hell before they get to rest in peace.
Such is life.

You really used your poetic way in this prose! We really need to Live, love and play. Very magical if we can always used these three, it may cure the illness of stress and loneliness as well. Happy healthy us, body, heart and soul.
Thank you for sharing and good luck for the contest.
Love much,

This poem speaks to the heart- and it carries a powerful message I don't know when I have read anything that describes a soul better.

I liked this novel approach to theis contest prompt. I remember as a child trying to figure where my soul was located. The nuns led us to believe that it moved around.
More poetry than prose here, but a great work

Well I'll be damned, really quit astonishing. The prompt requests either poetry or story, but while I read yours I truly thought I was reading poetry, postured by paragraphs.
Either way, it was a wonderful insightful piece of literature.
