I enjoyed reading this poem written specially for children, into which you have managed to add descriptive words and explanations. I specially like the way Mom has to be convinced that all is well while they plan their next meeting.
There is nothing to suggest changing.

good steady cadence in your lines when read aloud, which is good in a story poem
good alliteration in says we swap some scary and in flying foes, etc.
I wouldn't mind eating smores with a dragon LOL
Excellent fanciful detail that creates a delightfully imaginative story
good consonance of hard C sounds in camouflaged/books/stacked/

I think children will love this poem. It's cute and reminds me of the song "Puff the Magic Dragon" - Children love imagery they can see and understand in their minds; I think the level of both is perfect.

Super cute poem :D I did enjoy reading it very much - you have a real talent for this style. I love the concept and I'm sure kids would too.
One small thing I noticed, and which you might want to double check in the rest of the poem, and that's the rhythm seems a little uneven at times, particularly in this line:
Having saved the planet from some evil-doer's doom.
* This line seems to need two extra syllables in order to maintain the rhythm:
e.g.
Having bravely saved the planet from some evil-doer's doom.
