Just thinking - putting myself in the place of Mike right at the end of Chapter 2... He believes Mr. Black wants to kill the Angrath. Since Mr. Black took the baby, Mike HAS to assume the baby is already dead because he does not know what Mr. Black really wants to do with it. So is he just going out to punish Mr. Black for hurting Amy? He can't assume he is going to get the Angrath back. Obviously, Mr. Black has other plans for the Angrath, or the story would be over.

What is he going to do, indeed?
Well written. Great action and description.
I like you similes, analogies, and metaphors. It's like you have a war going on against cliches, refusing to honor them. I love it.
Great job.

What bliss. Chapter one over breakfast, and then at my break chapter two is waiting for me. And the horror continues. With wry humour to begin with, then spiralling downwards to end in pure terror, and panic. A serial reader's delight. Kate xx

Thank you, Kate :-). I love having my main characters fall to pieces a bit because that's often how we react to unexpected situations (though I hope never to experience most of what Mike Radshaw does!).

Read this chapter yesterday but Thought I'd wait until today before I reviewed it so I could give it the rating it deserved...SIX STAR. Another cracking chapter Mike, I loved the bar scene with Wilberford, the banter brought the scene alive and gave the reader another piece of the puzzle, the climatic right/left hook was quality.
Then you take us on a roller-coaster ride of emotions; sorrow fuel anger wrapped in a concrete blanket of hopelessness that has been covered in gore. AWESOME!

Thanks so much, Hitch. I can still remember writing this chapter - it was genuinely difficult to do, and I took a long time over the scene with the glue. I honestly think it's one of the best scenes I've written. Hopefully I can keep the rest of the story up to scratch!

Hey there Mike. I have been quite ill for some time now, but feel good enough to review tonight. I had to delete 800 to get to this one. I have to tell you this is a superbly crafted storyline. I love the closing lines. What do I do next. I'll find out in the next chapter

Thanks Bear - I'm really glad you enjoyed the read. I started this so long ago but it's always hovering in my mind so it feels good to be getting on with it. I hope this means you're on the mend, and that things are good.
Glad the hook worked to keep you reading :-).

I am at a loss over what to say. This held my full attention from beginning to end. I can honestly say your descriptions were so vivid I nearly threw up myself...seriously. I cannot fathom what will happen next but I am off to find out.

Thanks. So much, my friend :-). I hadn't realised you didn't see this one first time round, so I'm glad I caught you with this re-release. I did actually make myself feel a bit funky writing that scene - I was in a very weird mental place by the end of it, but I think it resulted in Radshaw's feelings coming across very genuine.

This was exceptional in every way. Great plot, great action, and a lot of mystery surrounding that baby. Sometimes it's the unsung heroes that draw our most praise. I am on to the next chapters. Thanks so much for sharing this heart-pounding adventure.

I get such a rush when people enjoy my writing :-). Radshaw's stories are like my outlet for the nastier side of my imagination, so I always try to include the humour to balance it. This chapter has my favourite funny line in it, then concludes with an entirely unfunny scene. I think comedy's great for creating contrast against serious scenes.
Thanks so much fir the awesome reviews. I'm really glad you got sucked into the tale.

This is fabulous. This is the thing nightmares are made of. Horrific imagination gone wild I'd say. The great thing about this book so far for me is that the demon makes strategic appearances, makes his horror then goes away again. This is so well put together. A great read. Can't wait for the other chapters. Olliebuster

Thanks again, Ollie! Chapter 3 - Psychic Psychotic - is already out and promoted for the next couple of days. Chapter 4 is underway - I'm about half way finished with it. I've been meaning to get back to this tale for a while, so it's great to be getting this positive feedback.

This is totally weird using a superglue to keep the wounds and skin together to save a heavily mutilated person. Well even a little kid when won't do that, unless Mr. Radshaw is going insane. And I guess the next chapter will confirm my hunch.

Pop wisdom has that superglue was invented by the American military during the Vietnam war specifically for the purpose of patching up wounded soldiers. Whether that's true is up for debate, but it made for a good plot device :-). As for insanity, yes I think the experience has definitely left Mike doubting his sanity - it's a bit of a running theme. Thanks for the great feedback.

Wait...so where's the baby? Come on now (ok I'm whining) I guess I will just have to wait, ahhh but what's that I see? Another chapter awaits! You are a very talented writer my friend. There is little I might offer other than my impression. Your work needs nothing else...
wonderful, edge of the seat, suspense.
thank you,
k
only one suggestion:
..." as diarrhoea on..."
'diarrhea' perhaps?

In England, our runny poo has an 'o' in it - perhaps to represent the howl of discomfort, lol :-).
I'm really happy you continued to enjoyed the story. I've been meaning to finish this for ages, so it's great to be able to re-promote these earlier chapters.
