I have a big lump in my throat. What a moving piece!!! We often miss the beauty in the small 'miracles'...so true. I hope people from your church were as inspired and touched as I am right now. Thank you.

Funny. I'm a non-believer, so the theology contained here doesn't affect me, but I liked the prose style. And I can sympathize with much else in this essay.
Just a pleasant read. I enjoy pleasant reads. Not many of them out there in the great world.

Thanks for reading. Generally, a four indicates that improvements need to be made. Are there some things you spotted?

All stories need improvement, even the 6's.
Now, if this had been filled with depraved sex and violence? 5 stars.

I sit here with a lump in my throat upon the conclusion of this very well written work. I too believe in miracles and you are so right about how you see them also in every day life. The church part really was beautiful and actually the whole thing was inspirational and wonderful
Many blessings to you

you hightlight two very interesting points to me, firstly the grace of the "freebird" as it soars majestically above, and secondly the innocence and purity of childhood
Joined together, you paint an idyllic picture of life

I really like when authors pay attention to small details and shine some light on the true beauty of those details. Sometimes they can be over looked and taken for granted. You have done a great job at showing that sometimes overlooked beauty

Your essay is such an uplifting essay. You are so correct to say there are miracles all around us each day. We are so used to complaining and not opening our eyes to what is going on all around us. Oh thank you so much for that reminder friend. So well said.

Maybe it's just me...but I doubt it, this is simply beautiful. I am in tears. The simplest things are miracles if we just open our eyes to them. Father Jeff is going to be so proud of you for this and I hope all the church members take it to heart. Our chuch does that greeting and hugging of each other also, but I have not had the pleasure of witnessing a scene like the little boy and the old lady. Great story.

Hi Mary - maybe we can do a house swap. I would love to go to the UK. In the Army, I lived in Germany for two years, but believe it or not, I wasn't allowed to visit the UK. Long story ...

I'm sure your article was widely received by your congregation. Good piece. Miracles do happen every day - I never have to go far to find one. This place, earth, we call home is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Bill,
I agree there are miracles around us every day we just need to open our eyes and hearts and we will see them. I was told I would die when I was 31 years old and had three small children. I am now a grandmother and if that is not a miracle I don't what is. The only thing I asked of Him was to let me live long enough to teach my children how to get by without a mother because their father had to work. He certainly did that and more. I have seen babies and animals being born...another miracle. You wrote this very well and I enjoyed reading every word. Well done and good luck in the contest....chey
