Katie - This is a beautifully written tribute to your Dad and I am sorry for your loss. I hope you Mother is doing well. I saw no errors and your words paint a clear picture of the wonderful relationship your parents had.

You and your family will be in my thoughts - sherry

Sherry, Thank you so much for the kind review. My mother is doing pretty well. She is a writer on this site too, Judithannie so of course she is writing through the grief too ;) I appreciate your kind thoughts. Blessings, Katie

How horribly unfair and mean life can be! They had so much to look forward to, so many more memories to make. At least they had a chance to say their last goodbyes. Knowing they will meet again. My sympathies at the loss of your father. Very well done.

Such a touching and tragic story, author, and written about beautifully. Cruel Cancer seems to choose its victims at random, and claim its victims before they've had time to come to terms with the knowledge. This is a memory you will never lose, and putting it into words, especailly a poem, is a very positive move in your grief. My heart goes out to you. Good luck in the contest.

Mary, thank you. Your kind words are so true. When my father told me he had cancer he said he had one to three years and I didn't know how I would deal with only having a year left with my father, then the cancer stole even that time from us and now I would give anything for that year. Writing has been so healing. I appreciate your understanding. Blessings, Katie

As you say it in your author notes, is a beautiful poem and very touching. The bonds of eternal love manifest. Also suggests such complicity of couples, this understanding without words.
You did an excellent job!

I wish I had six stars to give. I am in tears as I just watched my mother die. The "ice on the lips" I remember repeating time and time. You writ with such raw emotion. Thanks.

Patrick, I am so sorry for your loss! I have a new perspective not only on life, but on those left behind. Grief connects strangers and gives us an unfortunate bond. My prayers are with you as you grieve... Blessings, Katie

This story written in poetry is so touching, Katie, especially as it is a true story of your mom and dad. As you say, it is beautiful and sad. Your poem is as beautiful as it is sad.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is a beautiful poem, so sad to have to say goodbye, but what a lovely way to go.
The poem is just full of emotion, I don't think many could read it without feeling sad and also slightly envious of the love.
I am sorry for your loss of your father.

    Piggies Grandma,
Thank you for the kind words and review. It's funny when words need to come out. This was hard to write but also healing. I can still see their last moment together. It was beautiful. Blessings, Katie

The art work is very telling. The words very sad to read.

These loved ones will see one another in heaven

We loose our loved ones when they die on earth.

We will meet them again being together forever in heaven.
