First, well written clear and spacious it takes it's time and is not a rushed out jumbled story.
It is a grabbing continuation of your story Debbie.
I am glad for the last verse that shows a definite positive approach to each empathic day.
Nice to hear the birdsong without forcing yourself too eh.

it is indeed a mystery as to why we accept god at the more traumatic times of our lives, you became more aware following a rather serious accident, whilst in my case it was finding I had Parkinsons disease

Everyday is a new day - Every day - as one word "everyday" is an adjective, like everyday clothes
You explain the consequences of becoming disabled clearly and with passion. One who has not undergone a similar experience can only try to imagine how much this has impacted your life in so many ways. Your attitude is remarkable, and I love that you end on the high note of how this has improved your outlook while not sugarcoating things to make it sound like the negatives have not been a big deal. BRooke :-)
