Beautifully written in every way.I really loved the art work
and the words were excellent.
I hope many read these words, they would be great in a book.

This is so well written! I love the story of David, and enjoyed how you captured it here. I thought it flowed very well, and is a seamless, rhyming story. Honestly, I was impressed with how thoroughly, and eloquently you told David's story. Nicely done.

You are welcome, I genuinely enjoyed!

I like the ABAB structure. It's very difficult to rhyme, so I'm immediately impressed. There's not much to say. A story was made in poetry form. Very nice work.

You did a good job in this summary of the life of King David. It reads beautifully with great meter and rhyme. I think it would be a wonderful poem for a Sunday School class to learn. They could even stage a little skit, since David's life was so filled with drama. I've always wondered why it was never made into a movie.
Just a few tweaks.
What about "The giant fell down and died"?
A typo: Should read "King Saul was filled with jealousy"
I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. I really appreciate the suggestion and your catching the spag. It seems to me there once was a movie called David and Bathsheba. Of course Hollywood would go for the sex.

Beth, you've captured the story of David so beautifully, and Psalms is one of my favorite books in the Bible. He certainly was a man after God's own heart.

I love the Bible stories and the way you write in this simple to understand poem is fantastic. I don't think today's children hear the stories enough. Great job and good luck in the contest.

Beth, thank you so much for the Bible lesson, and also your
slightly up-dated take on the David story. You handle it much like a song, which is very fitting. Your references to modern vernacular delighted me---vowed to make them toast---right on! Beth I think you re-told and up-dated an important story with grace and humor. Nicely done. Peace, Lee

Hi, Beth, you retell this story in a wonderful poem. As a story the plot runs fluently, and as a poem it reads well. Thanks for sharing this lovely entry to the contest.

You have great artwork and your arthor notes are superb-you have a good flow with your poem and you are descriptive-you rhyme well and deliver a powerful message about how David before he was King would sing to King Saul--great job.
