Yes, she found away around it and no one caught on until after they ate the ice cream..Smiles, Carol

My boys used to sneak their vegetables to the dog. I've always had labradors, they will eat almost anything. I smiled throughout your short story. Queen of the Short Stories.

At four years old, she probably didn't know it was cheating...The witch of an instructor use to make her sit inside every lunch hour because she wouldn't eat vegetables...Guess she took after her mother! Smiles, Carol

Oh yeah.. and how cute. I reckon there are lots of us who could relate to the story in one way or another. Typical of a kid to stuff the unwanted bits inside the table ledge. I used to give it to my dog under the table . No wonder he was my best friend.. great story sis, so light hearted and fun.. See, if you had eaten your greens then Wendy would have too. good one sis, put a smile of the ol dial. hugs from Melxxx

What a clever little girl. this story made me hungry for green beans because I love them. Now see what you did, I'm going to have to go get some. Great job.

I had to keep a straight face while that teacher explained to me why it was not proper for Wendy to hide her green beans...I think I laughed all the way home. Smiles, Carol

My new stepmother cooked several things beyond my small repertoire of likes - I had all sorts of tricks like this one - you brought back a flood of memories of my food-hiding and disposing techniques. LOL What a cute story :-) Brooke

My darling daughter does not eat green beans to this day...I had to keep a straight face while the teach explained to me how wrong it was for Wendy to do such a thing...I believe I laughed all the way home. smiles, Carol

The list of foods my 30 year old Eric will not eat to this day has to be one of the longest lists ever - I bet he makes Wendy look like a great eater. And the child hardly ever gets sick other than the occasional cold. LOL

Hullo Carol ....
Not only am I smiling at your surprise ending to this short story but also remembering something very similar happening with my brother - five years younger than me.
There is just one sentence in which I suggest two small changes ...
* You have - Ice cream will be served Friday if everyone ... this should be - Ice Cream will be served on Friday if everyone ....
Thank you for sharing this with us. I enjoyed it.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.
LATER : I have just noticed that you have titled this
Yummy Grean Beans ... which should be - Green Beans !!

Yes this was very cute. It's just like a group of kids, one had the idea and the rest followed suit. I enjoy reading lighthearted pieces like this from time to time.
Blessings,
Connie

Very cute. I loved the ingenuity of little Wendy. Ha. And I liked the objective quick feel too. Fun and cute.
Only suggestion I thought...
paragraph structure to separate the teachers challenge from the response
From
***********************
" -- if everyone eats their vegetables this week." The room erupted again.
"Oh no" and "Yuck" replaced their excitement.
