Bravo!
I've printed this off...so I can look back at it...when I feel helpless and angry...small and insignificant...unable to contribute. Your words are so very powerful, and beautifully written.
This is a marvellous thoughtful and evocative piece of work.
Well done and good luck in the contest.

I love what you wrote I only wish I had waited till tommorow to review your magnificent piece so that I could give it the six stars it deserves. Funny reading this right after discussing with an Englishwoman why I belive my president will be murdered. A man comes, young thin, kind, wise, and extends a hand in open compassion to all. They come back with burning limitless hatred and guns. All under the name of Jesus of course, and they never think, did any of this happen before. Some things change some dont, but a black man will always receive only black hatred from hearts two sizes two small, and thats what I have learned from my species this year.
thank you for your beautiful piece.

An interesting list of lessons. I was glad to see a few upbeat optomistic ones. Although, the majority of them doesn't seem to give us much hope. One last lesson (I hope) - Someday in the future, man learns what he does effects everyone just a little and he decides to do good.

Some terrific, profound observations here. Definitely some food for thought. Some touched me more than others; I especially liked #20. As for #'s 6 and 7: how about someone who believes in evolution and creation? And I love your observation on the "calibration of the universe". One example of that calibration that I love is the strength o the strong nuclear force. If it were but s smidgin stronger stars like our sun would live significantly shorter times, and a smidgin weaker, stars like our sun would never become stars.

Blaidd Drwg, how are you? Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate you very much. I do not know about someone who believe in both. It would make for an interesting discussion at the round table of knowledge. Yes you are right about the strong nuclear force and the other 3 fundamental forces that play into this finely tuned orchestration of the universe, again thank you so much,..jimi

I basked in all this wisdom. These lessons should be printed on a banner and flown across the skies on a constant basis. Man has not got his feet on solid ground!
I absolutely loved your learned notes.
Best wishes for the contest. luv jada

Brilliant!!!
I wish I could get away with leaving the review with just that one word, because that's all that needs to be said. You are very wise!

we are our own worst enemies. thoughts that travel in straight lines often die in a crooked sense. life is just that and nothing more. death is something that we all mankind knows is wrong, but yet we wage wars that have killed countless millions. That's enough of miner. Yours were very good. just to say the least... John

Hi jlsavell,
Fifteen and eighteen are my favorites. I think you put a lot of thought into your list and I enjoyed reading it. I liked some of your opinions, while with others I did not necessarily agree, but I still enjoyed your thoughts. Well done and honestly thought provoking. :)

I enjoyed reading your list of things learned, jlsavell. For the most part, they were well written and thought provoking but occasionally (for example in the last item on the list) your presentation lacks the clarity needed for it to be effective... A man will define someone who does not think like he thinks as being someone with a closed mind. is what I think you meant here, is it not?
Couple of other nits noticed: #11 no comma's needed and #13 have should be has.
I think #15 and #19 are especially good.
