Geez, Brooke, I must be dense. I have never heard of the Christmas fairy, but did love the story so much, I had to read it three times. Good work!

no, the advent poems come on each Sunday and are acrostics from Christmas carols - this is just a bonus Christmas poem!
    thanks so much, Brooke :-)

This is a very special Christmas poem! Enjoyed the message.
Why isn't this entered in a contest? Surely a winner.
Thank-you for sharing this with me.
The colors didn't work well for me though; I'd suggest a black background with bright yellow or orange font. It's the green, I think, that was out of place for me...sorry.
Thanks for sharing this with me.

Blessings on you too - I've only had two ladies bummed so far that I allowed a fairy into God's story! LOL Thanks so much, Brooke

This is an interesting mix of the Christmas story and a being which I would not associate with Jesus's birth. For me, it would be easier if I could see an angel here, instead of a fairy.

Ah, but my daughter is a fairy person, and I write fairy poems! :-) I consider fairies part of creation and God as creator of all creatures :-) I know this does not sit right with everyone, and that is ok because we do not all share the same way of looking at the world. Thank you, brooke :-)

You never fail to tell a complete story that comes across naturally and beautifully. I love it when i read through a poem that flows nicely (like this one) with a rhyme scheme that is not forced- I actually didn't even notice it until I read it a second time. I just think that that is an indication of really good writing.

that is a great compliment that you did not notice the rhyme as that is always my goal - to make whatever form I'm using not stand out - thank you so very much for your kind words, Brooke

so sent them this fairy long years before

At first I thought the above sentence sounded funny but re read it and it is good and fits along with everything else good.

I think this is wonderfully structured and told so nice but do not see why the fairy was honored for love. She only altered the shepards a star was bright and watched over them. But then again I quess she watched over them with love. Good job!

she also showed love to God by doing a lowly job year after year with no knowledge it would ever lead to anything good for her - she was devoted to God and devoted to the shepherds
    Thank you, Brooke

Yes, I grasp that clearly and understand what you meant. I was thinking while writing.

Dear Brooke,

A marvelous poem about the Christmas Fairy. Perhaps she is the Holly that brightens the landscape in the long winter nights. She did her job, awoke the shepherds. Maybe she dwells in the minds of ladies who sit by the fire on Christmas eve and remember the Christ Child.

Merry Christmas,

Winslow

As usual you took something and made it beautiful. I loved it. I thought it was all well put together and it flowed and read quickly while leaving the meaning of the words behind with the reader. Great job.

What a way to tell this blessed tale over once again. It gets downright boring year after year to hear the same drownings of words and song. But you maved mixed it all up for us, bravo to you. I will say this piece is wasted in this forum if it has not been made a contest piece. This is a winner and a shining star from afar. Don
