This was very well written with a nice even flow. Your verses connect very well to covey the main theme of this poem. I enjoyed reading this, and I hope to read more of your work. Thanks for sharing.

It took reading this several times before I think I understood what you are trying to say. Usually I skip a poem that makes me work that hard, but I sensed the message hidden in this poem was worth the effort, and I was right. I think this is talking about the faith journey we take. Very skillfully written. Thank you for sharing.

I am SO happy you did take the time for the extra reads! I smiled when you said you usually skip a poem that makes you work that hard! HA!!!
It is most certainly about the faith journey. How many times do we have to push ourselves or be encouraged by another to "go for it" - and to have faith in ourselves that we "can" do it and overcome a fear or obstacle. I want to thank you for your most generous review and sharing your thoughts with me. With warmest regards, Sue

Another nice poem, I am doing the top six at the moment, and you have three of them there, well done!! (Unless you paid to put them there, ehehehehe :)
I think the work reads with a smooth flow, it is a touching validation for Mike and I found it a pleasure to read and review, cheers, Abigail

Hello 6teezkid,
So, you're heading down that "road not taken." Good for you. We must confront our fears, or we will forever wonder what might have been.
Nothing to change from a technical aspect.

this can describe so many things for so many people, i guess that is the point in poetry. What this made me think of most was my own journey into poems, brought on by a challenge by another member. the hallowed ground i trample upon is poetry. well done enjoyed this one a lot.

Ahhh! This is exactly what my poem is about! I met an artist. He is very accomplished and he had been gently encouraging me, saying that I could also paint. Of course, wasn't I a nervous wreck to even THINK of looking at a blank canvas! But, over a very short period of time, he helped me overcome my lack of self-confidence (fear?) and I painted one day. He didn't tell me how to do it. He just said I could (no maps, no guide). Then I painted another, then another. I was so grateful from the depths of my soul, that I wrote this poem, dedicating it to him. His was the voice that said "Yes" - (My hallowed ground I trampled upon was painting). Thank you for sharing your same story that you were encouraged to write! It's wonderful!
The very weird part of it all is that I never wrote poetry either. So, because he encouraged me to paint, then I wrote the "thank you" poem, now I'm writing! Do I sound excited? ha!!! Yes, I am.
Thank you so much for your very generous review and again, sharing your story. Much appreciated. With warmest regards, Sue

6teezkid, you know I do not usually review works on the first page, for most are accomplished wonderful artist that are quite well known. It is quite a sight to see a newcomer on the scene have 3 wonderful works on front page news..congrats to you..mine has rarely been there.I emphasize rarely.
New Steps..once again a short simplistic poem that speaks volumes. Stepping outside of one's box or one's comfort can be daunting and intimidating. Whether it be a new paradigm shift accepted with humility, or a new physical adventure where doubt can cross, it takes the power of the mind to step out and embrace.
one other thing that does come to mind is leaving behind a painful relationship that one has stayed in for various reason..perhaps a woman in an abusive relationship stays for she is afraid to be without possible stability or shelter..it is when the pain and price of staying far outweighs the pain and fear of leaving that one is able to take new steps..just my observation..not a personal experience..
another great write..thank you for sharing..jlsavell

As I have only just started writing and stumbled upon this wonderful community of writers, I had no idea the amount of encouragement (with very honest critiquing) that would be here. I suppose I didn't know what to expect. And for you to take the time to write this lengthy review, I am getting even newer surprises! I really want you to know how much I appreciate your most generous review and your very specific comments. New steps, indeed, can be applied to so many situations in life; whether one is trying to get out of one place and into another or just plain explore and go off the deep edge into a new area one has not been before. But in either case, we all have been at the crossroads: Should I? Can I?
I am so glad you have enjoyed my poems! Again, thank you! With warmest regards, Sue

I am so immpressed and I loved the words, the structure is great, and the images are so strong as well. I love the texture of the words, as they bring out emotion. thank you for sharing.

Hullo 60skid ....
In this short poem, you have good rhyming and there is nothing to suggest changing. Clearly, you are the only one to really know what lies behind your words and, of course, that is the beauty of poetry ... to say much and tell little.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.

I think I'm on this path that you descibed. I'm just setting out on my journey but I think it's going to be a long and good one
