Well, bless you for your love of your foster son. He will make good choices, knowing that he has your support, I am sure.
As far as the poem: You do a nice job reflecting on the turmoil of letting go of a loved on and releasing him into an unknown future of his own making. Consistent rhyme scheme and mostly consistent rhythm done well.

It must have taken a lot for you to write this poem if this is a personal issue. A very deep spoken feeling with such expression. Nice job on this.

It did. Tears well up, but I know it's time for him to go. As said here, I can only hope we've given him enough guidance and stability to live a happy life. And, egotistically, I hope one day he may come back and say "thanks". So far he's been very good at taking without giving back... xoxoxoxoxo
