And you hold what position in the campaign team :-) Nice to hear straight forward, 100% commitment, whatever the cause, whatever the dream. Well crafted!

LOL Not on the campaign team, I just know what she's done for us here in Alaska. She's very popular here. Thanks for the great review!

This is well-deserving of six stars ... you have used the titles well in this great piece. I love my Sarah...your lyrics are good and I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Hugs and smiles, Susanne

Dovey, Great lyrics using all those song titles in a coherent and meaninful song. I don't want to get all political, but I am right there with you on McCain/Palin!
Great job! No nits to pick here.

Hello Dovey,
I enjoyed this poem and the love that you have for your
Alaskan Governor beams through. I'm not so sure which "hits" this poem is supposed to be based upon, but
you have to excuse me as the 80's are a blur to me--Too busy taking care of three babies left me a little out-of-touch in the pop-culture world.
However, I do recall the song, "Ebony and Ivory". It is a favorite of mine - lives together in perfect harmony. However, I'm not sure of the "context" of it in this poem and pray that it's no reference to race.
I'm sure that most people will agree that Sarah is a wonderful Governor, wife, mother, and Advocate for our Country. She is a woman to be proud of.
I'm so sorry that I was out of touch with the 80's tunes, etc. Because of that, much of the flow, I did not get.
I have not deducted any points for that because it's me.
Take care and keep writing.
Regards, LateBloomer

No negative reference to race... I was playing off of the 'lives together in perfect harmony' as well. Thank you so much for the lengthy and kind review. :)

Thanks for explaining ... I wasn't sure ... I thought I had to have had it wrong. I think Sarah Palin is wonderful. Go Alaska!

hi
good luck in the contest
very good job
I'm familair with the songs because my daughter grew up
listening to them. Personally I like the 60's but you
manage to incorporate them nicely in your poem
I also support your candidate

I graduated in the mid 80's, so it was a natural for me to pick them as my decade for this contest. Thanks so much for this kind review. :)

This was very well presented, with a terrific photo of Sarah Palin, who is becoming more well known down under than our own Prime Minister. She packs a huge punch and seems so fearless, great face to stand up against the enemy. Best of luck in the elections. We can't vote, only pray.

Dovey, one of the great things about our country is that we can disagree freely, and boy, I couldn't disagree more if I really put effort into it, but this is a poetry review, and you express yourself clearly, with conviction, with passion,
and your poem has a good rhythm and interesting rhymes. Those are the things that get you my five. :-) Of course, my disagreement is about McCain/Palin, not about your last verse!!!

I think we've had this discussion before lol I appreciate the review and the stars. Maybe you would get a chuckle out of the shirt my husband bought today... the slogan read...
Our Mama is better than your Obama! (Over the outline of the state of Alaska.)
Honestly, I chose her as my topic for the contest, because otherwise, it would have been just another sappy love or love gone wrong song... what else was there in the '80's? lol
And frankly, as far as Obama goes, with the state of the world today, his Muslim ties scare me too much to even entertain voting for him.
Thanks again! :)
