Starkat,
I love it. What beautiful imagery. I could smell those flowers. Tall grass riffles from a whispering breeze.

Art - I have to give you six stars for this simply outstanding entry into the Poetry Imagery contest. Your words are breathtaking. Truly, I felt it in my chest as I read your poem. I like the fact that you just wrote and didn't do a particular form for this, that must have been hard for you LOL. I know it is for me. Beautiful description of the picture and thank you for writing it.

Still can't wait until June!

Love,

Jenny *smile*

Hi ya star--This is lovely; your poem has a nice, wistful and soft feel to it--the words and images are "misty" and create the mood which your wonderful graphic image conveys. Enjoyed the gentle end rhymes, and the read was so pleasant, I read it more than once to let the message linger. Great job.

Happy St. Pat's--I know it's quite a "deal" in KC...

All my very best,
Lark

Hi Lark...It's great to hear from you. I'm pleased you could stop by and check out my latest post. Glad you enjoyed my poetic take on the misty contest graphic. I appreciate the comments.

This contest ;picture looks better when it's blown-up, like in the announcement. There's so much mist, I have to squint my eyes to see the road between the trees and the wooden fence around the farm...lol.

The weather here for St Paddy's Day was the worst I've ever seen it. It poured rain all day...a record rainfall... and the temp was quite chilly...in the 30's. Few turned out for the parade, but the dozens of Irish pubs and restaurants did a brisk business. The spirit of St. Pat's is alive and well here. It's hard to dampen that in this city...;).

Hope things are going well for you in EP. ..
    Wishing you the best...

Nice poem.
It really incorporated the picture well.
On its own, the imagery is still strong.
Good job and Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Lynn Radford

starkat

the work demonstrates a certain skill in the use of sound devices that tickle and snap up sentences. it is filled with alliteration, assonance and consonance so that reading the poem is a comfortable rythmical slide through writing devices used to carry the reader form thought to thought,

well done

I did not get notice of this piece, so I just checked, and I'm not a fan. How did that happen? Oh well, look for a notice coming through again that I'm becoming a fan!! This is charming "Tall grass riffles from a whispering breeze,
that also ruffles tree branches and leaves" Loved it!
