Yes, Monarchs are a dying breed of butterflies. That's not a good thing. We have quite a few in this section of Texas, but not nearly enough. Thank you for sharing this tribute to the Monarchs with us.

    Barbara,

Thank you for the great review. I hardly see any Monarchs in this part of Texas. It truly is a sad situation.

Hi Cecilia. Love your poem. I really like butterflies, especially monarchs. Your description of butterflies is done very well. Rhyming is excellent and the information at the bottom is so interesting. Great job. My friend.

    Brenda,

Thank you for the wonderful review. I am a huge butterfly fan and it makes me sad that they are disappearing. I want to build a butterfly garden for them.

Your poem provides interesting facts about the beautiful Monarch butterflies and you provide additional information in your author's note. It is so sad that their existence is being threatened by insecticides', etc. Evi

    Evi,

Thank you for the great review. We all need to pitch in and do our part for saving the butterflies. I want to plant some milkweed and start a butterfly garden.

    Well done

Eh, how does a butterfly fly a hundred miles a day? How do they figure that. It's not as if they wear a step-o-meter. and flying south in the fall they would be flying into a southwest breeze most of the time. And who is counting the numbers left. They got some guy in a tree counting 1-2-3 as they fly amass. NOt me, fer sur

    Tom,

Thank you for the wonderful review. They actually have a program where they tag the Monarchs. It's a delicate process, but it works.

    Well done

I always learn so much from
your poems. You always make a strong emotional plea for your subject matter while writing in beautiful rhyming prose. I very much enjoy your writing style and the knowledge I gain.

Your poem makes us aware of the plight of the monarch butterfly. They are my favorite butterfly, I would be very unhappy if they would disappear from the planet. Let's hope more people will help save these creatures after reading your poem.

    Jade,

Thank you for the great review. Yes, I am hoping people will be pro-active and plant some milkweed for the butterflies. They need it to thrive.

Hi Cecilia
This is a nice ode to the monarch. It is sad you have to write a poem like this. I rarely see a monarch anymore around Minnesota. I used to see them a lot when I was young. They are my favorite butterfly. It seems they spend most of their lives migrating.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great rest of the day and week.

    Joan,

Thank you for the great review. I don't see many Monarchs either. I know growing up they were abundant. I am glad you enjoyed this poem.

Butterflies are very special to me and I loved your poem and the notes. i wish I had a six. I can't imagine a world without butterflies. Our Conservatory has a live butterfly exhibit for two months each year and it's awesome to sit among the trees and plants and watch them flutter about. Great job!
Smiles and hugs, Carol

I often see Monarch butterflies in my town and park as they seem abundant in the summer, I had no idea they were endangered. I have been astounded how far butterflies can travel in one day. I enjoyed your tribute to them Cecilia, love Dolly x

Nicely done as ever in this series, Cecilia.
You give us so much information in a way that is easily taken on board and not overwhelming.
Monarch are beautiful and their migration is indeed a wonder of nature.
