This was a very interesting and thought-provoking poem. Betrayal is probably one of the worst things that happen in our life, because we weren't expecting it and it hurts especially bad when it is a friend. You talk about Jesus and how he was betrayed by a friend, a disciple of His own. But he had the faith that he could go through the crucifixion and be resurrected and give us freedom from the grave. When someone betrays me, I try to put it in perspective to what Jesus suffered, and then, as you asked, "Will you trust your faith?" to go on and forgive?

Indeed the Son of God, did say...Father why have you forsaken me...right before he gave up His spirit to His Father...
yet he ended up by saying...
Father forgive then for they know not what they do...he felt sadness for the very ones that wanted his death.
His Faith was true to the end..
When my husband left us in final sleep, I almost loss the faith that had been a way of life for many years...and yet I couldn't give it up...
I believe even to this day, that God answered my prayers, and allowed me to deal with such a difficult time for me and our children...
The loss of one's Faith, would be the loss of the belief in a living, loving God...What would one's life be without Him...
At 90 years of age, I doubt I would still be here, if not for His mercy...That's why I give Him the praise only He deserves...
Thanks for sharing your post with us...Blessings
Warmly,
Victoria

What is so interesting is that he knew he was going to be betrayed and, he knew who would do it.
Thanks, Elena, for giving this a review. -bill

The author's words made a lot of sense to me. The poem is engaging, descriptive, thought provoking and creative. I pondered on these words, and they made me think of when I am scared and don't trust my faith - I talk with God about it, as it gets me back on track. As I begin to trust my faith, in Him, once again. I found the author's words created a great question for many of us! Great Poem, William!

Yes. That is the answer I have to give, the only one I can give to this masterful poem by a deeply religious man who has been someone to comfort and guide others in that inevitable, trying time we all must face. Yes, Bill, you will -- you must.
You know I don't ask you to read my work, but this time I am. I have a four-part story centered around faith I want you to read.
Don't review, just read. (Skeletons & Apparitions) < parts 1,2,3 & 4
Love,
In Christ,
Dawn

I read all you post (which is an amazing amount) but I don't review it because I need that time to read others. What I do is, reserve a six for you and when I know a six is posted, that's the one you get. But I will read Skeletons, 1-4 and plan on one of them will be reviewed and given a six. =Bill

My friend, I am not concerned that you read Skeletons for any other reason than I want to share a truth I know to the depth of my being -- honestly, but thank you for the honour! Just read when you can, seriously, Bill, okay? Don't worry about a review! Hugs, Dawn

I don't review very much but I promise to read Skeletons. We have become long-distance friends and it's a friendship I deeply value. =Bill

I value your friendship too, Dr. Bill!

Wow! Such a powerful poem on betrayal and such an ugly thing too. I really enjoyed reading this one as a believer betrayal is such a dirty word too. Keep up the great work!

Hi yes my advice is that you still trust your faith. Do not give it up. If you do, you would be like one of those betrayers.judas paid a high price for losing his faith remember...for a hand full of coins he sold his master , his dignity, and became the worst betrayer in whole history of mankind. Would you like this to happen to you.
Then there is the question is there anything Judas could do. He was the greatest friend of Jesus. By fate like Jesus who had a mission on earth, Judas also had a mission, computerised to fulfilled it and that was betraying His master.as far as Jesus or God is concerned Judas did not commit a crime, he was doing his duty. As to man who like to judge others, Judas is a criminal.i take the first view.

What a great poem. "And then, the suffering. we will all have a date with" was a great line. The betrayal, the faith all wrapped up into one. The kiss of betrayal really hits home. Thank you. I wish you much luck in the contest.

William, your title, candid theme and adamant indicting tone is showcased
in these enthralling pious strophes...The "...deep violation of the trust..." is
as your notes imply, is increased exponentially due to the "Betrayal" was exchanged for pieces of silver...Moreover, The Savior knew about it before it happened, and let it take place anyway...What manner of entity is/was this! I like that you put the onus on yourself and humanity for the "when's" "Will I trust my faith?" Such a great and personal question. Good luck in the contest. teafor2
