I'm sorry, Doug. But it is confusing who is talking since there are quotation marks around what you say sometimes and not other times and your wife's remarks are the only ones with quotation marks around them all the time. Plus, a few typos make it unclear what you are thinking or saying. You use the term profound assumption where they are silly, not profound.
This will be fun when you clean it up a bit.

Ok. I get it. And yes there is too much spag. I was up too late last night trying to finish it.
Although, I double spaced between voices
every time I think. Meaning when the voice/speaker changed.
