Nice poem. I also like the picture. Is it drawn or did you take it? Poetry paints its own picture when well done as this one is, and it is enhanced by the one you added

Thanks for the review. I appreciate your comments about the poem. I took the picture. I can't draw or paint anything. I agree that poetry can "paint its own picture." I am glad you enjoyed it.

That's ok. You took a lovely pic.

In the fine tradition of making much out just a few syllables contained in many Japanese forms, this is a fine renga poem, that fairly sings to the soul Pam, well done, blessings Roy

I don't understand renga poems, but I do know what I like when I read it. I really enjoyed reading this poem and the artwork that went with us. Thank you for sharing both with us.

Thanks for the review. Renga has two parts. The first person writes a haiku. Whoever is next writes a two line poem of 7 syllables each that relate to the basic idea of the previous haiku, then it keeps alternating after that. I am glad you enjoyed this and the artwork.

The Heron is always so very patient and I enjoyed your peaceful Haiku Pam as the Heron continues to search for a meal at the water's edge, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks for the review, Dolly. I appreciate your comments about the heron and haiku. I think the heron is probably the most peaceful creature there is. It is also beautiful.

This is mesmerisingly beautiful, Pam: the subdued colours, the translucent sun and the solitude. A great and calming Renga poem, a true pleasure. Well done! Debbie

Hi Pam, I love it. It's a perfect response to the previous entry. The picture almost speaks for itself, but your lovely poem not only backs it up but is beautifully written.
This is a fun project. I may even add to it again, even during my time off. Ulla xx

That is an interesting little poem and a lovely picture. I am totally challenged when it comes to poetic formats and I am not familiar with the book. I have not read the previous haiku, unfortunately. Evi

Thanks for the review, Evi. I appreciate your comments about the poem and picture. It's hard to do everything, and everyone has their niches, which makes the site interesting.

This was a beautiful scene that your poem has described. I could feel the cold and sense the patience of the heron. We have herons where I live. Very patient. I call them sentinels. Beautifully written. Gretchen

Thanks for the review, Gretchen. I appreciate your comments about the scene and that you could "feel the cold" and also sense the heron's patience. We live on a lake and have at least one heron every year. They are very patient. You have a good description of them, too.
Comment from June Sargent
Great entry to the book of renga. The imagery of a heron on a cold lake is so serene. Glad you joined the fun challenge! Gypsy should do this more often.
