This is a great chapter of your story. It appears that Jinx and her friends luck is changing. They found their boat, now what. Jinx's scream is an indication that something isn't as perfect as it all seems. Like a good author you left the reader wanting more.

Authentic! I like the realism. In spite of staunch denial by our government, a nuclear disaster is a real possibility, considering the world-wide buildup of nuclear weapons, and our stupidity in ignoring Iran's growing nuc. capability.
I also recognize-and appreciate! the interjections of your great humor. Kenney's irony adds that certain acid flavor that you are famous (!) for.
The character's purpose and direction are exactly what catastrophe survivor's would be, food and a safe environment.
The picture you paint of destroyed buildings and apartment houses is a reflection of what I see on Fox, of parts of Isreal and Gaza.
Great story, and you left us with the (In?)famous Humpwhistle hook .

How could I not love, women are incredibly smart, they know men well, but they have an overpowering desire to change them, some men cowtow and they shouldn't, but a beautiful woman has power, as Eve did, she must have been a beauty, But what has happened to our modern day Eve? You left a great hook to ensure we all come back and read. I can't wait to see why Jinx screamed. I do enjoy reading this story.
