Never much of a fan of sci-fi or fantasy, I never dreamed I'd become a fan of ghost stories; although, I do like horror and crime dramas. But your story fits so many different genres, and of course, it delights me with thought of all the things I could do as a ghost. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Me too! Wouldn't it be a blast? When I wrote my first ghost story, I was three chapters in and threatening to toss it all in the garbage. I am so glad that I stuck with it because I've truly enjoyed writing these stories with Eleanor. Thanks for sticking with me!

OMG!! That was a horror film in print!! Magnificent! I really want to give you a six, loads of them!! If you don't win this contest, something is very wrong. I don't know who else is in the contest, Ulla has pulled out.

You have an incredible imagination, my friend, this is worthy a Hollywood film with the best actors. I loved how you sorted out Doyle, it couldn't have been better, it frightened the life out of me, so goodness knows what it would do to a real person like him. He'll be beaten to the bone and become a mental case, not that he wasn't already. This was the BEST EVER part!!! Loved it. Well done, my friend. How many more have you got to write before the end? It feels like this is nearing it. Phew. Now for a G&T!! Love you lots, Sandra xxxx

First of all, you have sent chills down my spine. This is what I needed to hear. Thank you so much! I have one chapter ...the ending and it's being written and polished right now. I'll save it to post tomorrow, maybe I'll pick up a few sixes on Sunday. If not, I truly believe this story has been my best. Not to decide if I write another sequel in January or do I put Eleanor and the troop to rest?
Thank you so much....Without your support, I couldn't have done it.

I will probably read it tomorrow, but review it on Sunday. You must post tomorrow, though. Yes, this has been your best book SO FAR. Honestly, you truly are an amazing author. Take a bow, my friend. 🥰👏🏻👏🏻🎬

Thank you so much, Sandra! This has been quite the enjoyable ride even though I was crunched for time. Now what's the next journey for Eleanor?
reply by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell on 29-Nov-2024
I don't know, and don't care, just so long as you bring her and the crew back again! 🥰🥰🥰xxx

Thanks! I'm thinking maybe something might be discovered at the abandoned vineyard or in the area...and wedding bells too. Or maybe threats or a kidnapping with little Margaret.... my head is buzzing already.
reply by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell on 29-Nov-2024
That sounds good! Not the kidnapping, poor Jenna and Matthew have been through such a lot. But the find in the vinyard, now that might affect everyone! Get that brain rocking, my friend. xxx

I felt this was perfect justice for Doyle. If I'm not mistaken, Doyle caused Eleanor's death. If I'm right, I wanted her to say, "You killed both me and my sister Margaret, who you pretended to love." New readers need to understand.

Doyle will have nightmares every night, for the rest of his life, brought on by ghosts from his past, like Johnny. Eleanor won't have to do anything to Doyle. His past will haunt him. This was excellent retribution, and very satisfying.

The story gets deeper, more threatening to those who deserve it, they did harm, now in line for harm to come to them. Our past always comes back, some good memories, some bad and haunting.

I am so far behind on reviews as I try to finish this story within the deadline and enjoy being with my granddaughters. I have faithfully read and greatly appreciated each review. I am thankful for all the time, comments, and reviews everyone has given to my story. There is no way I can catch up on almost 250 reviews, so please accept my thanks and know that I truly appreciate that you have stuck with me throughout the story. Thank you.

Oh! This is startling...

Very creative, for sure, but I'm not sure I can embrace an almost demonic Eleanor.

Doyle deserves his punishment but I am just now realizing the hijinx of Eleanor frightening people has been somehow light and (although scary to those she does it to)-- always somewhat comical, or at least as a distraction...

Eleanor scratching at his skin and biting his "lob" (which I think you meant to be lobe) truly took her out of character for me.

If this were happening I would have preferred a dark spirit visited Doyle...

I'm pretty sure others may think this is an awesome Stephen King like twist...

It was too big a pendulum swing for my lily-livered heart though!

Congratulations on a super marathon run!

Are you out of breath?

You ARE so gifted!

Karenina

Hold it...We got to get this straight before it blows up..... None of the spirits were Eleanor until the very last.... It was like the "Christmas Carol" ghosts reminding him of the terrible things he'd done to others...Margaret's murder, Donatelli, and others.... Didn't it come off like that? Eleanor doesn't appear until after he has been judged guilty.... Help me out.... I count on your opinion....... And I certainly don't want to take Eleanor's character down the wrong path...She just wants justice. Waiting!!!!!!

Egads. Yikes. Gee-Willikers. Holy moley, and other comments indicating I misread it. Please go back and read the revised review and my mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.

Sorry! Thanks for clearing this up. I hope you were anxious about my misreading but not angry.

    Hugs,

    K

Only anxious my dear...I was afraid I had messed it up royally because I trust your judgement so well. Never would I be angry. This story has really meant a lot to me as I wrote it and I just don't want to blow it at the end. Thank you for taking a second look... Love ya, Carol

Oh my. I let out an "Oh no" and scared my grandson! It's all good now. I calmed him down with pie as his parents will be picking him up in a half-hour and I won't have to deal with the sugar rush.

    I do apologize again!

reply by the author on 29-Nov-2024
No apologies! You were one of the first reviews and it rocked me.... like I said, I trust your judgement and thought I'd really blown it and it was almost the end. Hope you are doing well....

I'm good thanks. I couldn't get commitments from my kids and grandkids so I wasn't sure how many I was (or was not) cooking for. We ended up with eleven! Today is "rest" day -- although I did clean out my refrigerator and finally got rid of every plastic storage container that didn't have a top. (Where DO they go!?)

Excellent conclusion and congratulations on the book in a month. I could never do it.
The nightmares were perfect, the stripping him of everything, sublime.
This is a superb end to a great story.

There is one more chapter that I will post tomorrow.... But thank you for enjoying the chapter. I fear some might think our sweet Eleanor has crossed over the line...I had hoped it was like the Christmas Carol with the visit of the ghosts and then Eleanor stepping in at the end. Did you get that feeling or did you think it was Eleanor doing all those terrible things? thoughts, please?

I figured Elenor was behind it, although I don't think she was being all the ghosts, more calling in the troops to each do their own thing.
Then she can leave them to have fun making the rest of his life a quite literal living hell.

I'm cheering because Doyle got the justice he deserved. You did a wonderful job with this chapter. I could feel the pain inflicted on his, and it was so deserved.
