Yes I know those feelings also, I never rode with a huge group of people Just my husband and another couple. We went riding in the evenings on his Cycle to watch the sunsets and rises. Freedom, I called it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your kind review. It's fun no matter how many people are riding. Thank you for the six shiny stars. I appreciate it.

Hi Cecilia, you've had fun here and reflect the enjoyment you used to experience when out riding on your bike with your husband. The punchy sentences convey to me the thrust of the engine and the roaring speed. And, clearly, there was so much more in terms of the cameraderie and sense of adventure. I did it once but the closest I want to get now is reading about it:)) Thanks for sharing. Debbie

This sounds like a good time for all. Riding motorcycles throughout the town is how they discover friendship and good times available for all who are involved in this way of life. I love the keen choice of words describing the fun and fellowship of all who partake in riding motorcycles for the love of it.
Good job at letting us know how it feels to ride in the free open air while riding alongside friends.

Bikers get a bad name because they are portrayed as being rough and tough, but I truly know more who have ridden to honor vets and have done good things than I do the bad ones. Especially at Sturgis... I love the rumble, and reminds me of many family members who lived to ride,

Carol,
Thank you for your kind review. I went to Sturgis on the 75th anniversary and it wasn't my cup of tea. Too many people and I don't love big crowds.

Yes, oh YES! This was such a joy to read, and here is why -- I used to ride (although I doubt I could anymore) and your sweet poem evoked such memories!!! Simply wonderful poetry!

Dawn,
Thank you for the kind review. Yes, I bet that it did bring up memories. Were you a wild biker chick back in your day?
Cecilia
-
:))) Not tellin'.
-
Nah, I'm just kidding. I had my own bike.
-
There's a whole story behind it, actually. First husband, bike club, etc. I may write about it sometime. :)
-
Dawn,
You should. You look like you could've been a wild child back in your day :)
Cecilia
-
Dawn,
Like I said. You look like you were full of mischief in your heyday.

Dawn,
I''m glad I was able to make your day and put a smile on your face

Hi, Cecilia. Welcome to FanStory - I hope you like it here.
You have a bouncy little poem here, celebrating motorcycles and the good folks who ride them. I'm not a biker myself, but there is a little cafe/store/bar a mile up the road from my house which is a regular weekend assembly point for different groups of those who are, so the scene you describe is familiar to me.
I have a little query about how your poem is presented. Your first two stanzas have strong, bouncy meter and ABCB rhyming. Then you suddenly switch in stanza 3 - quite disconcerting to readers who are drawn into the sound of verse.
Still a likeable piece.

Thank you for your kind review. It is free form. I still struggle with rhyme patterns. I'm trying though.

A fun poem to read. Something about doing it with those short lines gives a feeling of movement. Maybe like riding on a Harley. I love the bike in that picture and especially the color. Bikes scare me but I admit it sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Marilyn,
Bikes are fun and I trust my husband with my life when I sit on the back of his motorcycle. I don't trust the idiots around us. There have been to many times when we've had a close call, because of someone in a car not paying attention. They are fun to ride.

Roy,
Thank you for the kind review. We have one charity run we do. It's called One Tribe. It started out as 22 Kill, because that is the number of veterans that commit suicide a day. Within the last couple years One tribe includes not only veteran awareness, but first responders. There is normally 300 bikes that go on the ride. It's one of the best ones i've ever been on.
