Roy,

This is a great poem, if not a sad one. I grew up in a home where mother always blamed stuff on me and her words were harsh. One thing she said that I will never forget is this, "You were named after your father French whore" That was one among many degrading things she said to me. I suffered from self-esteem issues for a better part of my life because of her harsh words.

Hi Roy,
This poem reminds us that kindness and understanding are needed to move a child forward with strong self assurance. Bulling, name calling and undermining a child scars for life and needs to stop. It can lead to the blood you mention because of suicide.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend.

Roy,
This is a wonderful heart-felt poem.
It reminds me of the war in Gaza. Children on both sides are scarred by this bloodbath; they'll grow up hating the other side and what does that say for the world's future.
Children are indeed the world's wealth.
Excellent poem, Roy.
Blessings,
Have a nice Spring day,
Cindy
