An excellent chapter, and it was just as well they caught on about it unnatural for those three to be "just" driving around together - and wanting Garth off the case. Sounds like Matthew has quite serious brain injuries as well as fractured ribs. But they'll look after him, and Eleanor will be a good go-between once she sees for herself how Matthew is. Well done. A fine chapter - and you must be very very busy!!

Busy is an understatement. I have my laptop sitting on the table so I can jump on and off whenever I get a chance. I was up early this morning so I could write before school started. One does school by remote, one goes with her mom and gets dropped off, and this morning the other had an eye infection so she stayed home. It's crazy!

This carried the plot forward in giant strides! Sure- Garth may stay behind for now, but I'm feeling better already knowing it's only a matter of time!
How you manage to write while visiting and doing so much with your family is a miracle in itself!

i have the lap top sitting on the dining room table and whenever I get some time I write...I was so far behind on reviews and reading I thought I was going to freak. I've been whittling away and I think I have ten left. But I just posted another chapter so that won't stay down for long...I hope.

I can imagine how difficult it is to concentrate. However, you did a great job, no problems I noted, and this part carried the story forward very well. I hope you get Donatelli medical help soon, and I'm sure you do also. So go for it.

I'm about to work on that trick today if given the time. I've got one doing remote schooling and another home with an eye infection. Life's going just as planned. LOL Thanks so much, Carol.

Another fine chapter. Miriam said the noose is tightening, and that's exactly how it feels to the reader. Tension BUILDING. It was ironic hearing that comment come from Miriam.
Some edits:
"You know, Eleanor, she probably needed a few minutes alone to think.
(I don't think this is punctuated the way you meant.
You know Eleanor. She probably needed a few minutes...
is how I read it.)
"I did!" She answered but didn't turn to greet Eleanor.
(The exclamation point doesn't seem to fit Miriam's mood of eerily quiet.)
Great job! It feels like we're coming round the homestretch.
Phew, I'm all caught up!

There's a lot more going on and I don't know if I will get the opportunity to write and finish it for the contest, but that's life. I didn't know I was needed here, but things happen. Thanks as always, Julie. Fixed and done!

I hope you can finish for the contest. I think I am/was following many of the entries, but most have stalled out. You have a serious contender here IMO.
But I do understand there are priorities in life.

I'm going to give it the ole college try! I hope to get it finished because I'd like to have all three books published. Thanks!

This is a great chapter just like the rest. Don't apoligise you're on vacation.
I'm sad you kept me hanging, but that's how you keep the readers attention. Have fun with your great grans. They grow up to fast.

I'm glad everyone knows Matthew was not in his car. But now that Eleanor knows of Matthew's condition, how will they ever get medical treatment for him without revealing where he is and that he is alive?
You have your work cut out for you unraveling all the complications and doing it before the month ends. You're on vacation, so I was surprised to see this chapter. But then again, you're Super Woman.
I enjoyed this episode.

I had a few hours to myself this afternoon and I crammed the story into it. I hope it was good enough. As for finishing by the end of the month...I hope so but I can't make any promises. When I joined the contest I didn't know I was going to North Carolina...I'll give it my best shot but I don't want to slack on he story either. Thanks as always, Lorrraine. Love ya, Carol

It will be very hard to keep Garth from going with her. I do hope she can get medical care for Matthew and maybe that will keep him out of the way while he heals. I still can't wait to see who the father of Jenna's baby is. I like this story.

Thanks, Barbara...Finding time to write is a real trick. I never appreciated my quiet home so much until I am surrounded (and thankful) by my great granddaughters and their friends. Soccer games and now basketball tonight. I'll need a vacation! LOL
