I really enjoyed reading this poem, it is very different from your others. So you were a James Dean lookalike ... cool. What more can I say. James Dean was a real looker.
Take care. Jen.

The line, "I lean against a a car in jeans" - take one "a" out

"with stomach flat as vision gleans" - ha! the stomach is the first thing to go!

Well, Roy, if you looked like Jimmy Dean when you were a young man, you were one good looking guy!

I enjoyed this poem, a little different from your usual.

You were very handsome in your younger days. I look at younger photographs of me and am surprised at how I look now. Time isn't always kind to us, but that being said, God doesn't care about our appearance, He's only interested in our hearts. He sees beauty in all of us. Thank you for sharing.

Man, you were a handsome young man. Those features never change, eyes, nose, cheek bones. You have the love God beaming on your face and flaming from your eyes. You, as well as I know that look will never fade. So, break out those jeans and throw on that white tee. Just make the jeans a lot looser and cover that tee with a less form fitting jacket or something. Sorry, I couldn't resist. I did a similar thing. Mine was my 65 mustang fastback and no shirt, but that is gone as well. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. You're a great man, sir.

Roy,

This is a stellar poem. I love the way it rhymes and flows to completion. You are very talented and I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. I have yet to read one of your poems that I didn't like.

When I'm reviewing I often open a poem and within in the first few lines I know whether or not I will like it. If I don't like it I just scroll on by.

Great job as always my friend.

Cecilia

I think we all reminisce about how young we once look in photos. I'm sure I will the older I get as well, it's something we do take for granted when we are young, I think. A well written piece, Roy. I enjoyed reading it.

In my memories of long past youth, I still make the same mistakes but somehow they seem lees than I experienced at the time.
Like you I sometimes come across old photo's and think.
But I am happy with who and what I am and have been, so yeah. I feel your memories through your words.
Bless you.
Tim

And I believe that's why we were blessed to be able to dream and imagine the world differently, as well as ourselves. Dreams can take us to places we never could go or be someone we wish. Dreams are magical... until we wake up, of course. LOL Oh, to be young again! Well, maybe not!

Oh, those were the days, weren't they? I was going to be Helen Shapiro, a girl my age (14) same age as me, who hit the Juke Box in a big way. I had my hair done like her and sat in the bath singing her songs. I was definitely going to be as famous as her. Hmm. We can have dreams, we still can. I can see you as a young man in white t-shirt and tight jeans. Never mind, Roy, perhaps we can return to our youth when we return home?? :)) Well done, my dear friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx
1 typo...I leaned against a (a) car in jeans

I think you are doing a little bit of dreaming here in this post Roy as James Dean was quite a good looking man. I enjoyed your musing in this one, love Dolly x x x
