Thank you for your coherent thoughts and reflections on the election results. I, too, am in shock and disbelief at the results, but have remained reserved in expressing my dismay to this point, kind of resigned to the inevitable. I will be doing a lot of praying and hoping for the best. Thank you for encouraging hope and peaceful change.

This election has affected every one to some degree or another. We need to pray to God that he will guide our path. I pray for our country everyday. A touching essay.

Well said, Jesse. I'm with you. Change begins with each of us making the decision to change and dial back the anger. Your apprehension and anxiety are palpable. I wish you well in your surgery. I think it will take an act of Congress to change healthcare and although I know they will try, they'll find it as difficult as every other time they've tried. Their constituents will have something to say about that. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Be well and remain hopeful. Frank

Let's hope you are right, Frank. He has promised to change health care for those of us who are marginalized. I will remain hopeful.
    Take care, Jesse

I just stopped by because i heard you were giving out hope and I am all out! I share your feelings and your concerns. I never thought a day would come in my life when I would be ashamed of my country but here we are. Thanks for sharing, Jesse.

Don't despair because ignorance won the election. There are enough people out there who realize we all have our differences and that is the way we were created. God loves all his children. I'm sick over the election results as well. We are all losers.

Ignorance and apathy won the election. We are only losers if we perceive us to be. Let's work for peaceful change and keep hope alive.

Hope is definitely hard to find in these days of madness, but you're absolutely correct, it must be found, for it's all we have right now. Neither of can give in to despair

Hello, Jesse.
I, too, feel betrayed and disappointed at the election. The one thing about Democratic presidents of the past is that they care for the poor and/or disabled.
I'm so sad at the news. I felt my heart sink when Kamala didn't do well.
I don't want big brother in my business either. One cannot legislate morals. They should be taught in Church.
I'm hoping your knee operation is successful. I can walk without my walker, but I still use it because I am a fall risk.
Stay healthy and upbeat, Jesse.
I was heartened at Kamala's speech, when I saw young men and women (our future) cry when Kamala did her concession speech. They're what we should put our hope upon.

Hi Jesse. I feel your pain. Your story is heartfelt and speaks the truth. It is well written. I don't understand how this happened. I fear what will happen next. I just don't know why people voted for him. If you notice, both Biden and Harris conceded . They did not say it was rigged, cheated or filing legal cases. What does that tell you about them compared to Trump. I am trying to take one day at a time, but I am so disheartened. Great job on your story. I enjoyed reading it. My friend, we will just have to stay positive as best as we can.

I agree we must stay positive and work for peaceful change.
We will have to wait and see what happens under the new presidency.
If his rants are any indication we will be in for one bumpy ride after another.
    Enjoy the weekend.

Your message is filled with hope and inspiration. I appreciate reading your approach and reaction to the results of the election. The majority of Americans felt their lives would be enriched by their choice. In time we shall see.

I wish you much success with your upcoming surgery and rehabilitation. I use a rollator type walker to get around and know what you are experiencing. Hopefully, by spring or summer you will be able to walk freely on your own.

The majority of Americans did not vote in this past election. Rather than choose Trump they chose to abstain from voting. What does that tell us about our country? Let's keep hope alive and work for positive change.
Thanks for the good wishes for my successful surgery.
I look forward to the day I can walk unaided again.

I am truly sorry you feel this way. When he was president before none of these things disappeared, so I doubt they will this. Maybe you'll get some new insight. Thank you for sharing.
