I think this chapter skilfully demonstrates how women can deceive themselves repeatedly, especially when they have children, for fear of upsetting the apple-cart and disrupting their concept of a happy marriage. Both realistic and clearly expressed. Well done, Beth! Debbie

Misspelling in your first mention of Trenton.

Thank you, Debbie, It is easy to fool oneself into thinking things are the going to work out but there comes a time when you have act boldly to decide what route to take.

Life Lessons 101..Marsha has come a long way from the "happily ever after" and is finally seeing what can happen in life. I hope she starts to take things under control and sets the children and Trenton on the right path. Very good story, Beth.

Thank you, Carol. She is finding out she was really in that dark about where her marriage was headed. It is a lot to deal with.

Yes it is and then add teenagers and it's more than I would care to think about any more. You're doing an awesome job with the story.

I'm glad Marsha isn't going to fall to pieces, but going to talk to her solicitor. She needs to prepare herself for when Trenton comes home. And she needs to find out who that woman was who phoned. Is she the one he is spending the other half of his salary on? These, and more, are questions Marsha needs answers to. I really feel for that poor woman. Well done again, Beth. You must post on a Sunday so I can reward your writing with a six. This was perfect. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra. She is getting a few answers along the way but a few more questions that need answering as well. I appreciate the review.

This is a very nicely written chapter for the I not me of a marriage. I love listening to it as it flows very well when it is right about your structure in your paragraph and punctuation or very well done.

Nice writing. Good work.
It was possible he had been doing it all those years, while she was pregnant and taking care of babies. - I don't think this comma is necessary.
Marsha has a mess on her hands.

Thank you, Wayne. I appreciate the review. I'm bad about tossing in commas where they aren't needed.

People call it a crazy world today, but you and I realize it's always been. The wife swapping thing was sort of a fad in my early married days and it seemed like many were giving it a try. Far fetched as that might sound. But wild as I was, I would never have gone along with anything like that. Even in a miserable marriage, there is a thing called respect for the sanctity of marriage. :-) Thanks for sharing.

I hope that fad has died down. I've not heard much about lately. Maybe is because all those wives willing to be swapped aren't wives anymore. Thanks for reading my story. It is good to know you weren't that wild.

I never realized before tht Peyton Place is in Florida. Only joking. Your work is coming along fine and pretty soon we're going to have to know where those drugs come from. I know in my college days it was easier for some to cross a highway blindfolded than to try to stay away from the rampant drugs.

Thank you, Jim. I wish now I hadn't set this story in Florida. If I ever should decide to have it printed it is where it all took place, and people might recognize the characters. That wouldn't be something I would be comfortable with. I don't need the younger generation reading about themselves. The real Trenton and Marsha have passed on, but she always wanted me to write her story.

I did not realize this was based on truth. No wonder you have a strong narrative.

How very sad this situation is for Marsh, but as time goes on, she is becoming stronger as she is left to deal with all the problems in the family. It is unacceptable for Trenton to behave like this and get away with it. By accepting it, you condone it. The drug issue with her daughter is a big concern, but I reckon Marsha is well equipped to deal with this even though she has a lot on her plate.

The chat with the neighbour is enlightening and the cat is out of the bag now.

An extra word here Beth:
(. . . Tracie and figure out what (I) I'm going to . . .)

You tell a good story Beth and I am enjoyed this saga, love Dolly x x x

Oh no! Well, I had been giving him the benefit of the doubt but he is looking pretty guilty and those key parties sound horrendous. She needs to start making decisions soon.

I think Marsha gave him the benefit of the doubt while a while. Is she ready to admit if she stays, she has a lot to lose either way.,

OUCH!!! Yes, Marsha needs to do some real soul searching. I can't imagine how she's feeling. I do hope she figures this mess out and takes care of herself and her children. This is all too real and a good write.
