I have an abhorrence of any dog of size. A pit bull attacked my family. A pretty little girl bears a scarred face. I do not doubt you are right. Scores of animals not just pit bulls, were trained by idiots to fight and kill. All family animals should go to training school in my opinion, that way good behavior is instilled. You wrote a nice poem. Karen

Karen,
I'm so sorry that your family was attacked by a pit bull. I can understand why you don't like big dogs. Pit bulls are the sweetest dog out there if they are raised right, but so often they aren't and hurt people.
Thank you for the kind review.

I like acrostics too! I have a pit bull in my family. I'll admit I was cautious when my son and his wife first selected "Naomi" -- but she has proven to be as kind and loyal as any dog could hope to be.
Isn't Kratos a god of war in mythology? Ironic, isn't it? Sounds like your Kratos is a lover not a fighter!

Karenina,
Thank you for the review. Yes, Kratos is a Greek god of war. He's my son's dog, but I love him. He is a lover and scared to death of his shadow.
How have you been? I haven't seen you around. Are you doing okay?

Oh, you know...
Some illness in the family, the death of my aunt...
Thanks for asking!
Hopefully things will settle in by next week!

I'm sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and the family. Glad to see you back.

I love Acrostic poetry... one of my favorite styles to create. You've done a wonderful job in this style describing your awesome pit bull.
I have heard of their reputation, both good and bad, but personally never been around one.
He sounds awesome to me. Thanks for sharing Kratos with us.

You're welcome. He is a big 100 lb baby and a scaredy cat.

Oh, this makes me miss my pitty so much. They really are a beautiful breed that has been so misunderstood, and my Tyrion raised over $75,000 to help change their reputation, buy writing children's books, personal appearances, and special events. Thanks for posting this and reminding me of the good things in the world.

Hi Laurie,
Thank you for the kind review. Pitties are really good dogs. We need to raise more awareness. People need to realize that it's the wrong end of the leash they are blaming.

Yeah. If the dog thinks it might be feed: very kind. Yet, if a stranger these dogs are vicious. I was tapping on top a fence: one leaped from behind trying to grab my hand. Don't do that anymore.

TPAC.
Pit bulls are very protective of their territory, but that doesn't mean they are vicious. My dog is a 100 lbs and his bark is scary, but he wouldn't hurt a flee. Good family dogs. Sorry you have such a poor view of them. These dogs are big snuggle bugs and most are scared of their own shadows.

Hi Cecilia,
Well, I love animals and your beloved Kratos in your picture looks friendly :-) He looks adorable ... I've always been a little intimidated or should I correct myself, been terrified of pit bulls in the past. My husband runs his own business and got a part-pit as a watch dog named Fred on his property. Fred was a big baby actually and his bark was much worst than his bite. He befriended people at the gate wagging his tail. Ahh well :-)
Love your acrostic showing love to your sweet Kratos.
Long live all pets!
Thanks for sharing,

Senyal,
Thank you for the awesome review. I was like you a little leery. We got him at 8 wks old and he was a spoiled boy. He is a big cuddle bug, and big coward :)

That is a beautiful pit bull. Your notes are so right. People have labeled them as bad dogs, but it is how the little dog is raised up and treated. We had two pit bulls come into our back yard years ago. They were females and had just had puppies, but not puppies in sight. The so called owner took off with the puppies and left the adult dogs on their own. We fed them and petted them. One was black and one was tan. We named one Blackie and the other Tannie. We loved those two dogs. So sweet. We never knew what happened to them. Blessings, Teri

Thank you for the kind review. I hate people that abandon dogs. For me my dogs are family and I can't imagine abandoning them.
They are sweet and big snuggle bugs. It's all in the raising.

I am an advocate for dogs. We have three in our house and they are in charge.
I agree, Pit Bulls get a bad rap. There are a few in my neighborhood and they just make me smile they are a bunch of goofballs.
Excellent acrostic, on the perfect subject.

Hello Cecilia.
You did an excellent job maintaining the acrostic style through the poem. I was not familiar with the term woobie, so I learned something today. You are correct about a dog being as good as its owner. We see that every day.

Robert,
Thank you for the kind review. Yes, pit bulls are the under dogs right now. It sucks because a lot RV parks won't allow them. They are great dogs if raised right. Kratos is a snuggle bug. I'm just trying to get awareness of the breed.
