Awwww. Best Halloween surprise ever! I love stories like this with happy surprises endings. A few year years ago I was surprised like that on Christmas eve by my daughter who secretly flew to Florida to be with me over the holiday from Seattle. I was so shocked and it was the best Christmas ever. Thanks for sharing.

What a cute poem. I liked the way you set it up. Written well. The dialogue is good. I also like the picture. Great picture.

I got out early today to vote, wanting to beat the crowd. I arrived an hour and a half early, trying to be first in line, but to my surprise, there were already 150 people in front of me. There was a big, tall man with tinted blond hair and a red cap that said Trump. I tried to run over him, but he hid behind a truck. Thanks for sharing.

LOL....I voted through the mail this year because I don't want to stand in the long lines and freeze.... Or listen to everyone get into fights. I think this is going to be a dangerous election regardless of how it works out. Smiles and hugs, Carol

I was shocked at how many people were openly discussing their thoughts and views today. I've never seen that before, and certainly wouldn't normally chime in. I told them I'm an equal opportunity hater. I don't like either candidate. And that I had known Donald Trump since 1973. He was a blowhard liar and thief back then, and nothing has appeared to change since. And as for Kamala Harris, who supposedly worked herself from McDonald restaurants to prosecutor to Vice President with smarts and hard work, isn't exactly true either. She had a long, scorching affair with probably the richest and most powerful married man in California, who squeezed her butt into the top seat. So, it doesn't appear we have any chance to elect an honest and honorable person for President this year.
-
About my same sentiments.... but I know I don't want Trump...but unfortunately half my family does and the other half doesn't. I hate to see what happens to our country after the elections.
-
I wouldn't vote for Donald Trump for dog catcher. But if he should win, our country will never be the same again. Like you, I have friends and family who keep liking him no matter what he does. I just can't figure it out. :-)

LOL When I was growing up and Halloween was on a Friday, we'd trick or treat on our neighborhood street, the load up in the car and drive the few hours to my grandparents' house and surprise them for trick or treat. They lived on a farm and got any trick or treaters. Thank you for causing this memory.

My mother and dad always came to town ...my father gave out candy and Mom walked with me and the kids. Later, we went to their house to always say trick or treat so my Mom could see the costumes. My dad had little interest except for stealing their candy. Now I live in the country home and nobody comes any more. I appreciate the review and the memories.

You are such a talented artist. Not only can you write a novel, but you produce a mean poem. Just in time for all the trick or treaters tonight.
Great job

Carol,
You truly are very talented. You and other authors truly inspire me to keep writing. Sometimes I get impatient and want results now.

I know that feeling...especially when I am writing a novel. I want to get to the end fast, but it never works that way.

My mind filled in the blanks and imagined how often a veteran has returned from service and surprised his family... This may not have been what you intended, but it touched my heart, nonetheless.
I'm thinking of all the Gold Star families who never got the chance to experience this.

Yes, that's where my thoughts went too... military sons returning home. It sends chills when I think how many never got to return home. Thanks so much for reading this one. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This is a cute story, and the picture is great. I love that this person was able to surprise his mother with a Halloween homecoming. This story tugs at the heart strings. Well done. Hugs. Carol

This is a Halloween story that would work well with a general audience of all ages. What a fun and happy twist. The Hulk at the door is more than just a run-of-the-mill teenager. Thanks for posting.
