Sorry, Rachelle, but I'm out of sixes and Tom has yet to get back to me about my request for more. I loved this. The incorrigible little puppy and his friend. Too cute and gave me the warm and fuzzies. Great job. Gretchen

Thank you very much. I think you should PM Tom. Start it off like this: Hey, DUDE! Remember me from beneath the table at the Convention?
Anyway, I will be sure to relay to Li'l Swish (and Twinsie, too, of course) that you like the poem about their bad little selves.

Hi Rachelle.
That is a cool looking picture. I have started using MS Copilot to generate my own images. My 5 posts since I have come back have been generated by me. They aren't great but I found I have enjoyed doing it. Your poem is a good story about those two buddies. I like the fact you used the scansion to create a key word to keep the meter flowing.
Good luck with the poem entry.

Thank you, Robert. This is how unintented my "scanscion" was: I had to look the word up and then fit the definition back into your sentence. I am a poetry lightweight. For me, it's all about the musicality and visual presentation. I am clueless about what constitutes any particular form...though now that I've been enrolled for a few months in Gypsy's Japanese Poetry Club, I have learned to differentiate those types. Baby steps, Robert; baby steps. Someday, maybe I'll get there...
Thanks for this encouraging review. xoxox

You're very welcome, Rachelle.
That was supposed to be a compliment. 😊
You are not a poetry lightweight. You know how to make poetry sound like... poetry. That is not a common skill. I apologize if I have offended you.
-
No, no, no, no, no!!! You did not offend me whatsoever!! I was just feeling embarrassed and chagrinned because here you'd given me this great compliment, and I was so undeserving, I had to look up its definition!! I appreciated that you thought I was that knowledgeable and savvy!!
And just for the record, Sweet Robert, know for a FACT that you would never in a million years say something with the intention of offending me. So for that reason, nothing you ever say to me WOULD offend me.
Never ever give that even another moment's consideration!! xoxox

Cute pup. Was Twinsie a pet of yours? The photo reminded me of my BF who passed two yrs ago in my arms?

No, Twinsie is the stuffed animal there in the photo, so named because she looks just like Li'l Swish.
I'm so sorry to read your BFF. But at least he was in the arms of his BFF when he crosed over, and that big-time matters.
-
Thank you.

Woof!
(I bet you liked what I did there, didn't you, Tom...)
-
Yes, I did. Did you click on the link to see the similarity?
-
No, the link didn't work.

Wait a minute! That couch belongs in Florida, not New York! Can you send it in one of your care packages:-)
I can't believe she runs and gets Twinsie when she's being punished. What a smart dog.
And this is such a sweet poem - down to earth in its simple, rhyming, fun self.
You and Swish have a marvelous day, and good luck in the contest.
xoxo

Wait a minute, yourself! What about Twinsie? Don't you care if SHE has a marvelous day? Your insensitivity is astonishing here!!
That is actually a slipcover, not the couch, itself. Once we got Li'l Swish, a slipcover was a must! Once she's a "li'l" older, maybe we'll be able to go back to the unwashable (and very New York!) tweed that's beneath! Stay tuned.
In the meantime, thank you for this very lovely review...that excluded poor little Twinsie...

I confess that when I read the title I thought it was going to be about Jane Babies! Lol. However I did love this dear poem about a naughty puppy who has to take his little comfort toy to his naughty corner. We all need such a comforter at times! Well done - and best wishes for the contest.

Thank you very much, oh Queen of the Good Dogs. Do you think Li'l Swish will ever change her ways?
xoxoxo
-
Sunny s naughty at times. Lil Swish will probably settle when she is past her teenage years of seeing if she can push boundaries!
-
Oy. That's still a number of years away...
-
In doggy years, when she's around two. Meanwhile, enjoy the ride. In her doggy mind it's just "Girls just wanna have fun" .... Cats and birds are wonderful entertainment!
-
That reminds me: One time, I was at a student's house on his birthday. "How old ARE you today?" I asked. He thought a moment, then said, "Well, I'm thirty-five in dog years." Then he looked around surreptitiously and whispered, "And don't tell her I told you, but my mom is 208 in dog years!!"
-
Lol. Clever kid! And he's right - better not to tell his mother....
-
That old bag?!

What a great, relatable story you have delivered, Rachelle. I already know who your Twinsie is. Why, it's Jane Babies, of course. She even went to the FS convention dressed like you. LOL! Sorry, you'll never live this one down, like Gretchen and her low-class Dixie Chick comment. Dogs are quite fond of their toys.
God bless,
Steve

Ohhhh, THIN ICE, NEWMAN!!!! THIN! ICE!!!
Good thing I like you so very much.

Oh, my mother calls me Newman when I'm in trouble. Steven Newman Anderson if the thought of killing me crosses her mind, lol. I want to retract my statement formally.
-
Too late, Buddy; it's eternally etched in my mind. I have just two words for you: Dodie. Rae.
xoxoxox
-
LOL! Well, it's a good thing me and Dodie Rae are tight, or I'd be worried.

This is a cute poem for the contest. The picture is cute also. It's good that Little Swish has a soft and cuddly buddy to comfort her in time out, even if it is a toy. Best wishes in the contest. Carol

Thank you. The cuddle buddy was an impulse buy at, of all things, Walgreens. She was there in a box with six brown littermates, and I knew she was meant to be part of Li'l Swish's life

Have a wonderful week.

This is a quaint, pleasing and encouraging poem Rachelle and I agree with you, we all need this comforting feeling now and again. I keep mine in a safe place in my mind and go there in times of trouble, a special place where I can recover and relax. I loved your inventive rhyming and metre, a joy to read, love Dolly x x x

Such accolades from the Great Dame of Poetry! Thank you times a million zillion. I will be sure to pass this along to Little Swish. (We actually call her ":Li'l" Swish, but that didn't go with the meter as well...) xoxox
