Another great chapter full of action and excellent dialogue. I always think Miranda is more assertive than she appears here but I like the way you've made her more layered, possibly more confident on her home turf. I'm wondering about the relevance of Max's children here and whether his son might also be being groomed at school? Thanks for sharing, Gretchen. Debbie

well, that was fascinating. Am going to have to go back to the beginning and catch up. Just checked your stats, boy, you are way up there. Congratulations!
I have to tell you the way your character feels about her Mother-in-law is exactly how I felt about my first husband's mother. She was the most evil person I have ever known, bar none. Oh, well, water under the bridge.
Wish I had started this story sooner. ah, well, onward and upward.

Thank you so much for this extremely flattering review. I do appreciate that you are reading my story. Miranda is the main character in my first book Miranda Chronicles. That is ground zero. You should write about your mother-in-law. Might be fun to get it out. Gretchen

Ground zero it is.
If I wrote a story about Madeleine I'd probably get struck by lightning as she's probably in cahoots with Zeus. Ha! I made a pome.

I love your Miranda story. She is so totally human. She has a good heart, but she acts impulsively, and nothing stops her when she gets something on her mind, She makes mistakes and has feeling about people of love or hate like we all do. I think there is a little of Miranda in all of us. There is much of earlier story I don't know like her history with Elaine. One of these days when I have more time, I'm going to have to go back and find out what I missed.

I would be so happy for you to read the first book. Miranda is a fun character to write about. She is impulsive and determined. Thank you for this wonderful review. Gretchen

Oh dear, that poor man! Fathers are not like they were in my day, coming up a century ago! Lol. All my mother had to say was, 'wait until your father gets home!' That was threat enough to be good for the rest of the day. Bless them both.
Now, that slimeball Tomlin, let's hope that Elaine does the deed and gets rid of him. The only way Miranda will know is if Waylon comes home with a big grin on his face! Great chapter, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. I'm glad you could enjoy this. Elaine will start to watch Tomlin, but only to prove Miranda wrong. Lol. Gretchen

This is a well written chapter. A bit cliche with Matt and his not knowing how to cook or mind his children, but I think the FanStory members will enjoy that aspect.

My husband gave the kids cereal or McDonalds when I was away. It was easy. It is cliche but I had fun with it. Thank you for this fine review. Gretchen

She is brave to do the first thing, but the second part is just hilarious.A lot of fathers act as if raising kids is nothing. As they do nothing about it, Then, they act as if they should automaticall command respect and awe. You must be Present in your kids lives. Karen

I agree with you about being present in your children's lives. Matt has a hard time garnering respect. His employees aren't even afraid of him. lol. Thank you for this wonderful review. Gretchen

She's had two different interviews and neither went well. The former mother-in-law may be on the alert, hopefully. Poor Matt is probably going to try to fix the situation, but Miranda has no hope for him to succeed. Well written, and the second interview was amusing.

Thank you so much. Matt doesn't stand a chance. He can't even stand up to his employees. Lol. Thank you. Gretchen

I hope Elaine does take Miranda seriously, and act upon the information. I also hope that it doesn't get back to Tomlin's ears that it was Miranda who spoke up, for Waylon's sake. Matt obviously hasn't shared equal parenting with his wife, and yes, it's high time he learned to set and maintain reasonable boundaries. Well written.

I hope she does as well. But she hates Miranda and might ignore for spite. Thank you so much. Gretchen
