I enjoyed your story about C S Lewis and his search for his faith. Sometimes we need to open our hearts to feel and nourish the soul with faith, a fine post, love Dolly x x x

The poem does a good job of reminding us how to be in touch with our faith. It is the factor in the life of a believer we cannot abandon. That is what connects us to the Lord. Our faith is what saves us. Well done and good luck.

"My faith used to hang like an old coat." I like the way you started your poem. It struck home to me because that is how my faith hung on my shoulders. We need that new coat. Well written.

I love this! This poem resonates with me on such a deep level because, as a Christian, my faith is everything. I can relate to the feeling of sometimes letting faith sit on the sidelines, like that old coat gathering dust. It's so easy to let life get in the way, to think we've got it all handled, and before we know it, our faith becomes more of a fallback than something we live out daily.
What I love about this poem is how it captures the transformation from treating faith as a mere security blanket to realizing it's so much more than that. Faith isn't just something we turn to in times of regret or loneliness. It's a promise of restoration and healing for our brokenness. The way the poem speaks about faith being part of us--woven into our very being, supporting us like wings as we search for our true home--is such a beautiful reminder of how faith should guide us every step of the way.
The imagery of seeking the lighthouse in the night, being led to a place of rest in God's presence, is incredibly moving. I often feel like I'm searching for that light, needing to hear those living words that breathe life into my soul. This poem captures that longing perfectly, and it reminds me that faith isn't just something we hold on to--it's something that carries us, sustains us, and nourishes us when we need it most. Fantastic job! Good luck in the contest!

I believe that CS Lewis, although I think he was a traditional believer, he lost faith, until he realised that only fools choose to not believe, but then he came to faith's experience of rebirth, which probably comes from being 'all in' but God is wise, He responds to those who are willing to embrace Him wholeheartedly, and God knows our heart, which is what happened to you, bless you, great write, thanks for sharing, blessings Roy
