What a sad and horrific story about a very brave and loving woman. Regardless of the abuse and shame placed upon her, she never forgot where she game from or who her family was. She remained strong and I must believe that her reward came to her in the end. Great story.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

Hi Carol, In those days the blacks were servants. He only married her to keep her in tow. Most free tribes go 'walkabout' she just had to fit in. Thank you. Kace xx I have known a famous tennis player (Evonne Goolagong) walked out on a match. It's in our blood.

I'm glad you wrote this poetic tribute to your grandmother, recognizing the difficult life she lived and the horrible way in which she died. Now, people from Australia, the UK, and the US will know her story.
Your contest entry is well written and interesting. I wish you the best in the contest.

Thanks little butterfly. Yes, she suffered in silence. He was a bastard. Didn't recognise us kids, never spoke to us right up to the day he died. Love, Kace xx

Back in those days, black women were used. The white man looked on them as servants. He would sit at the table for lunch with a Bible and a cat 0' nine tails. I never understood him and never wanted to.
Thanks for reading my friend. Blessings, K xx

This is your very real Brit poem in this style of a story and I enjoyed very much reading it. It is sad that that happened with your grandmother and that she would wind up bleeding to death on the floor. What an awful thing. Patricia.

Hello Patricia, Hope you are feeling better now. Nana was in bed when she bled to death. All because Grandpa refused a doctor. My sister and I fronted him to get help. That was brave of us because I was only 13. He finally called the doctor, it was too late. I loved Nan so much. Love, Kay xx

Such a sad story, that he treated her so poorly. Did he not expect that their children would not be white, as she was Aboriginal? He had no real understanding of her emotional needs, it would seem, as he took away from her tribal area and family and subjected her to the ways of white people, so very different from her own. Well said. Hope you do well in the contest. I am glad you respect and honour her memory.
