Hi Gansach, this is the cutest poem about
a lonely scarecrow...who has to deal with
Mother Nature at her worst...sigh...
and like you...I wish I could invite him/her
to my home...

What a sweet poem and i must say, you gave me a different perspective on a scarecrow. They usually scare me to death since I watch so many horror movies and they are always portrayed as evil. I will take into consideration now that some of them might be good. lol Nicely written.

This is so beautiful. I was once a small child on my grandfather's farm. I would climb part way up the windmill to find where in the corn rows he was plowing. I had been given the job of taking him a large canning jar of water. So I looked for the dust flying never really seeing him..but If came upon the old scarecrow I would turn and go another way. You have made me friends with that poor creature that I long ago feared! Thank you!

When it is read aloud I only problem with it is that I always have trouble reading work that is black font on a reddish color or orange color at all because of my vision problems if you were to put it on a tan color it would show up much better. Patricia.

This is very well written and it flows well. After reading your words, I feel bad for scarecrows. There is emotion and feelings in your poetic form and use of words. "Stuffed all full of itchy straw" is a great line that makes the reader have empathy for the scarecrow. Excellent free verse form that creates a clear picture.
