I was thinking the same thing: Limo driver???! What happened to the bus?
Sometimes a girl's gotta do what she needs to do! I would imagine the rest of the trip will be plenty peaceful without Jane's whiiiiiing. At least Maria is in good hands. Good chapter!

Wait - don't get too excited. You've got to read Gretchen's version. It'll break your heart.

Thank you for this delightful review, though; I do appreciate it very much. xoxoxo

For the ways you look after Rebekah and for the way you have stood up to Jane - six stars. Love the dialogue in both areas. There are the not so subtle comments about your being muted - goodness, you must have rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way! Oh dear!
And Jane has been properly disposed of - six stars for that too.

Actually, I rubbed one person the wrong way, and the attendant minions - some of whom I don't even know or have never even once read or reviewed - followed suit! I find it fascinating that people who look for all the world like grown, independent women actually conduct their lives according to others' edicts. As the kids say: WHATever!!

Anyway, don't be so sure about Jane's disposition!! There are kinder people on the trip than I who fold. (And we were SOOOO close, too!!)

Thanks for the extra stars, Wendy!!

this is very well written and a nice chapter for the book and I enjoyed listening to it very much. It reads very well when it is read aloud and I enjoyed knowing all the things about Jane and her talents. Patricia.

I always read all my work aloud before I post it. The musician in me isn't satisfied until it sounds like a song.

Thank you for all your kind words here. xoxox

I don't want to go on a road trip with Jane. (Oh, wait a minute. I think I have been on one.) In a few paragraphs, the reader is fully engaged with your characters. I like the visual images, e.g., "Hippopotamus deflating a pool raft or eyes jostling out of the sockets." Your dry humor works beautifully. I can't wait for the next installment at the Fanstory convention. gayla

Hey, not fair. Using up my sixes like that! Giggles filling up space, eyes jostling out of sockets. I so love your word pictures, they evoke the intended and add rather than detract from your writing. I think I might have thought you were spitfire on my contest with the red-headed girl? Esther

Now that, my Yankee friend, was a cliff hanger. In the best possible way. So, I'm a low class Dixie chick in her eyes. Bwahaha, I love it! This did not disappoint in the slightest. I felt all of your pent up aggression and frustration bubble to the top as soon as you saw her at the car. Perfect delivery. You had me perfect with my add ons about her terrible poetry. This was awesome, Rachelle. Gretchen

OMG! sounds like your friend, Tova pulled a fast one.
Boy howdy, as some say here in Texas, that would fry my grits!
Can't wait to read the next installment.
Getting rid of Jane deserves a celebration. You truly created the perfect person to ...dislike intensely.
Good luck. Also, really neat scene between you and Rebeckah. Heart warming.

I am so glad you and Gretchen got rid of Jane. It should have happened at the beginning, but it made for a great story. I can't wait to read more. So happy I get to read this. I do hope we see Rebekah again.

Rebekah was the reason we had to tolerate Jane as long as we did. We did it to spare her youth and naievete! Without her on board, though, the gloves were off!!

Thanks for this terrific review - and fear not; we WILL be going back to visit Rebekah once the convention is over.

I honestly do look forward to your reviews every week. xoxox

Muted by 7? Poor them, as they are not able to read one of the best things on FanStory right now.

The bad news here is that Jane will not go away, at least not for good. She'll be at the convention and in full pissed-off attitude. Look out, girls!

We'll call this "showdown, phase 1" perhaps.

A well done chapter with a good pace and lots of Jane-inspired tension. I'm loving this series you and Gretchen are co-writing!

First of all, HAHAHAHAHAHA to "SSSPT." You slay me.

Second, they actually CAN still read my stuff, since I don't believe in muting. They just never lower themselves to reviewing...though there is not a doubt in my mind but that they are reading. I can't read their masterpieces, however, and to that, I say, "Thank gawd!" It saves me a LOT of eye-rolling.

Third, thank you for this delightful review...and you're so right: it's only Phase 1. Lots of "showdown" material coming down the pike!
