A beautiful poem. You made the point so elequently. I pray that the American people can withstand the potential destruction of Democracy that was warned to us by the Founding Fathers. Thanks for sharing.

Even though I do not discuss politics, I've lost too many friends doing so, I will say that our founding fathers are indeed weeping. What a mess we are in. Only God knows the solution.

Mike,
I love this poignant commentary poem.
I'm saddened by the events in this country -- especially the dirty politics.
What happened to common courtesy among politicians?
When those in Washington bicker, we common folk lose out.
What will come in November?
Thank you for your thought-provoking poem.
Best wishes,
Cindy

i do not have 6 stars and 5 is not enough to rate your amazing philosophical poem, this is very inspirational and encouraging a debate on whether history is reflected in the present ( as villains ruling this world tend to like to copy the ancient dictatorships for exemple ) or it is questioning the Bible's promises,
I m interested in you views,
Kind regards,
Sarah

Thank you, Sarah. Because I'm not a particularly religious person, I believe it's the former, but the power of religious belief is strong, although the teaching of religion have been warped to fit Trump. Thanks for the six stars in spirit

Dear Mike Stevens,
You are most welcome :)
Have a blessed Sunday,
Sarah

The story of yesterday is poignant and powerfully written. You ask the questions we need to ask for all of our country. We need to pause and ponder whether we need to stop and wonder why we haven't asked ourselves these questions before. Please, Mike. If you want help promoting this, say the word, and I will help.

Hi Mike. I helped by promoting it, I hope you don't mind.
People need to read this.

Don't mind at all, thank you much

This has the potential to be expanded upon and become a whole inspirational song, in my opinion. I like the contrasting elements of yesterday being in the dust and then the founding fathers weeping. I think you are on the precipice of something here.

Hi again, Mike.
I see you chose another short poem to get your point across. Sometimes, that's the best way to do it. They will read it because it's short, but carries your message as well. Right now, that's all you can hope for.
Take care,
Rhonda
