I think this is a good poem. I like how you put the wotds. dancing snowflakes. This is a nice limerick. I was thinking about trying one. Good luck in the contest.

Limericks are fun to write and read. I agree with your limerick about snow. It is delightful to watch as it falls, but cleaning it up is often difficult. I know. I moved away from a state with heavy snow, to a state with lots of sunshine. You did a great job on your limerick.

Everyone's been posting limericks these days. I've been reading several, and some were for a contest. Yes, the snow may look pretty, but it can be a pain when you think of all the cleaning up to do. Look for info on formatting a limerick. They usually start with an unaccented syllable. You may have 8 or 9 syllables in lines 1, 2, and 5. You've got the beat right in third and fourth lines. I think you need to add a word in the last line to make the flow come out right. Example My delight turned to one sorry plight. judi

I added.a in that last line .I tried to change 'dancing but I could not come up with unstressed syllable word thank you for your help. I was under the impression that the syllable should be 8 8,5,5,8

You can vary the syllable count. Sometimes they're 9/9/6/6/9. The thing is to get the meter right. judi

Thank you for sharing this Limerick with us. I happen to be a fan of Limericks and of snowflakes. They are beautiful and peaceful floating down. I enjoyed reading.

So do you have snow where you are, Santha? I know that this was adorable and I loved the cute limerick. LOL, not sure about the subject tho. I am just kidding. It's just that I live in Minnesota, pretty much the ice capital of the US. We can get temps of minus 50 and wind chills of minus 70. And it is just about that time of year again. Plus it is nothing to get 20 inches of snow in one falling.
OMGosh, I didn't mean to go on and on. ..... But your poem was delightful!
Love, Debi

No Way Debbie .I have never seen snow except in American films .But my cousins in US crib about the hard work .They prefer to come down to India during Dec/JAN. When I see snow scenes in films I think it is very romantic...

Your cousins are correct. A dusting is beautiful but anything more is days of work for my husband. We own 100 acres of crop land. So there's many roads and paths to plow..

I enjoyed your Limerick offering here as snow looks so pretty when the flakes fall and then when they accumulate we curse the inconvenience. Your Limerick is missing the metre of a Limerick, but I loved the sentiment. Glad you are joining in with the fun. Love Dolly x x x

Thank you very much Dolly .My cousins in US keep cribbing about the hard work of snow shovelling...
Yes others have pointed about the metre or the lack of it .Being a non native speaker it is difficult for me to know the stresses .I followed some instructions and did some repair work.

You did an excellent job. You captured the feeling of the magic of watching the snow fall, and the burden one feels having to shovel it. The picture was an added bonus, but your words stand alone.

We don't get snow in my part of Texas, We get slush though. Yuck. Snow is usually very pretty to see, but not a lot of fun to clear up, or get super cold from. Good writing. Karen

I loved your limerick. It was a great and entertaining way to remind us that too much of a good thing never bodes well in the end. I live limericks and yours did not disappoint. Gretchen
