This is another very well written chapter for your book and telling the story of your life and I enjoyed very much listening to it. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Also, wish you a wonderful day and a good week. Patricia.

Thanks for sharing the "Days of Our Lives" in your life. I remember the fifties and how classmates has a composition tablet with each student have their name on a page and as they were passed along comments from the reader would be penned about the subject considered. There were some that were viewed kindly, and then there was me. I'd love to recover one of those journals today.
One correction to consider... both with flip over, yuo did mean would, right?

Thank you, Tom, I had diaries back in those day that I love to see again but I never finished one. Thank for pointing out the wrong word. I'm glad these make people remember their on class days.

I enjoyed this very much> I remembered my joy when I won a creative writing contest in Grade School. Know how much that fifteen dollars meant to you? In the nineties, while working s a Program Coordinator, I accepted an assignment to free-lance for a local paper. I wrote about a City Hall event in which the speakers told of services to the Disabled. Sleepless, I went to work in the morning. The editor said it was the best first-time feature he ever read. It took up three-quarters of a page. It brought me fifteen dollars.

Thank you for a great review. I can imagine agonizing all night trying to make sure the feature was perfect.

At least, like the terrible play I wrote, I felt accomplishment when the task was done.

Thank you, Wayne. I appreciate the review. No, I didn't mean alto. I was trying to be funny. I meant I sang also. I didn't know what you called the different voices.

Many things happened when you were in the eighth grade. Having a pen pall from China must have been interesting. I remember having pen pals whose names came from the newspaper under the pen pal section. It is amazing you had stories published in your school newspaper as part of the writing staff. You have been writing for a long time. I'm thoroughly enjoying your current stories.

Thank you for the great review. After the school years were over there were many years I didn't write, except for a poem ever now and and then. If I'd kept on writing instead of waiting until I was older and retired, I might have gotten somewhere with it.

Just amazing.. You even remember the name of your pen pal from the Republic of China! You had to have kept journals to remember all these details. I remember a few things from Junior High School but the thing I remember most was my extreme hatred of gym class after showers became a mandatory thing. Very interesting as always. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Marilyn. I don't know why that name of my pen pal sticks in my mind. I was always fascinated by other cultures. Now, I have a daughter-in-law from South Korea.

Way to go, Beth! You're quite the entrepreneur, even if you didn't solicit the business. News travels when you are good at something. Very interesting chapter as a teenager. Thanks for sharing.
smiles, Carol

Sounds as if you're doing wonderful at this beginning of your teenage years. I had fun reading and remembering how some of those things still happened when I was in school. I am so enjoying reading your memoirs.
