When I first started reading this, I felt the love, but as the poem progressed, a more sinister side appeared. What a clever poem. 'He beholds the candles of my life.' This is such a beautiful line full of emotion.

Congratulations on post number 50, Sarah and you've celebrated with a well written poem about the troubles that can arise between couples in love when others get involved,
hissing like snakes.
Well done, and good luck in the contest.

This poem, Tragic, seems to speak to the ever-prying power of the world, others, or other invisible forces to separate a couple from what they see as their future together.

yes you nailed the meaning behind the lines, and through the words of my poems: jealousy and envy obstruct true love and the consequences can be devastating, when lives depend on the love fuelling them, many thanks for your review. take care ;)
