Exceptional

Helene seems to be thinking the situation over. The similarities between Rachelle and Rebekah's mother may sway her. Besides, it is Rumspringa, so Rebekah can surely go to New York as part of the experience. I hope she will go and have a feeling that she will. Gretchen is skillfully characterized. This is a great story, and rewarding to read, too. I think it is so bad that the Amish have taken such a stand against education and shun those who don't follow the Amish ways. Family is family, despite their differences. judi

Such a delicate conversation to have and I love how you created that tension between Rachelle and Helene. And it seems Rachelle has the upper hand both in logic and resemblance to Rebekah's mom. It seems that Rebekah will get a chance to leave and learn more about her musical gift! Good think Gretchen came to sound the end of "recess" bell as she comes to the unneeded rescue!

It appears there was a reason for you to end up at that farm after all. I agree, there's no such thing as circumstances. Very good chapter. Thanks for sharing.

It would help prove that I get it if I used the correct word of coincidences instead of letting the word prompt guide me to type circumstances LOL

Hello Rachelle,
oh my, what have you done gal? You've opened a door to possibilities for this girl, and yet she is going to be like a lamb in a den of lions. That being said, who better to help her on her first step into the outside world. Of course you know you're going to be responsible for her for at least awhile? Great chapter gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I do, but the alternative - letting her and her talent just stay untapped in a restricting lifestyle seems even worse. Maybe in this situation, there's no "easy" solution, but rather a brave one. Thanks for this thoughtful and insightful review. xoxox

And this one is so YOU. Full of enthusiasm and wonderful ideas and an amazingly intuitive way of getting Helene onside. Touching her heart, breaking down her walls of resistance by your compassionate understanding - and conviction that it was meant to be, in the eternal plan. And I love your humour about Gretchen!
Wonderful read.

Thank you, Wendy. Coming from the penultimate compassionate person I know, that is quite the compliment. One of the benefits I've earned by being a teacher is learning how to frame something in a way that "lands" with the person with whom you're interacting. You, as a teacher, too, I'm sure, have also acquired this life skill. It's a biggie. Thank you for this really nice review. It felt so good to read these words. xoxo

This is great Rachelle. I'll bet the two of you really good enjoy a trip together. You're personalities are so different and yet they each compliment the other. I would imagine someone from the Amish community woule feel very say to have an outsider come in an persuade one of thier own to leave. I sence this leg of the journey will soon be over. I will hate to see it end.

The thing about Rumspringa, though, is that the teen gets to make the decision, and the parents/older adults have to live with it. Isn't that so NOT what you would expect from a community so entrenched in rules and control?

Thanks for the nice review. Yes, Gretchen and I do have complementing styles. It's like my husband and me. We are very different, but we've been together a zillion years now and still are very happy to be doing life together.

Two great minds think alike, that's true because you and Gretchen have created a story with all kinds of possibilities and a twist in the plot. You never know what is going to happen next. Love this.

It's kind of the same whenever we chat. We never quite know what the other of us will say next. But, it works for us, thankfully.

Thanks for the fun review. Samantha. xo

Nicely done. Love the tug of each person's arguments---Helene's more an emotional outpour.. Rachelle, while I understand Helene's fear of losing Rebekah, I am glad you stood for her and took her to what may be her true calling--- whatever the eventual outcome.

It's such a tightrope to walk. Loved ones fear the loss that can result from too much growth, and a teacher sees untapped potential.

Thank you for the insightfulness of this review. Very much appreciated. xoxo

This is a very well written chapter for the story and I enjoyed very much listening to it. It is structured in such a way that it flows very well when it is read aloud I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Patricia.
