Wish I had a six. Son of a gun. The last line was a diamond. This was great. Now she is being watched by the police, and her grandmother. One line was troublesome. Where you have officer Carrey say,"No ma'am." But officer Riley felt different. It's like Riley is now center stage. Maybe say the look on Rileys face said different. Does that make sense? Dodie Rae wouldn't know how he felt. She could assume but that line doesn't imply that. Hope that clears it up. Great chapter though. Dodie Rae is starting to feel smarter, more cunning and more invincible with each chapter. That could lead to her undoing.
I have a question. Do you like the character of Dodie Rae? Sometimes I'll meet a character who is so interesting, but I won't like them. Wondering if you're the same. Gretchen

Yes, Gretchen, this cleared this up about Riley. Thank you, for this excellent and helpful review, my friend. As crazy as it may sound, I love Dodie Rae's character. She became a fierce warrior after receiving the Essence. Prior, she was meek and easy going and quite reserved. She is now a force to be reckoned with.

Not knowing the previous chapters, it is difficult to completely judge, but here goes. I believe this is a tight well-written chapter. The phone dialogue beween D.R and grandmother is realistic.
Where is the wound? (suggest adding: peering in the mirror,) She maneuvered her body...
I question: a person staying in one place and reading for two hours with getting really sore. But maybe that is my old age speaking.
"She touched her side where the knife had been embedded into her flesh the night before." (Find it hard to believe that there would not have been blood when looked the night before).
Overall a fine chapter that moved well.

Thank you, Harry, for this excellent review, my friend. Dodie Rae has a supernatural entity inside of her and she's just learning of the cool things that comes with it, such as instant healing and blood absorption. Thank you for the insight on the mirror, I have changed this and it reads much better.
