another great poem about a simple event riding a sleight ride in the winter with your love by your side, and the last line is a nice twist as you recall the present day when that would not longer be possible. I like endings like this.

Oh this was such a happy, festive poem but the ending was a sad surprise. Unfortunately, Christmas is a sad time for so many for this very reason. May your memories keep you warm and may the true reason for Christmas bring you peace.

Ouch! I was enjoying the ride, with a big ole smile on my face. From out of nowhere I was hit with the sad reminder that my "Ride or die" has left me to journey to another place. Now my desire to ride has also died.
