Well, I can't say I knew exactly where this was going, but I had an idea it wasn't going to be a normal boring story. LOL. And I'll certainly be more careful around beautiful, naked babes who approach me in the dark. If it ever happens.

Thank you, Roy, for this excellent review. I feel I am growing with each chapter. I think I'll need to slow the pace soon. This scares me a bit, as I like fast pace.

Wow that was an intense scene. I think Officer Riley is definitely going to be in for it once Dodie Raw catches up with him. You did a brilliant job of bringing this scene to life and I was kept hooked right the way through. I can't wait for the next chapter.

Strange, different, intriguing. An interesting idea, a woman who turns into a beast. I haven't had the opportunity to read the previous chapters to see how this woman transformed into this beast but it must be interesting reading. I actually like her character in spite of her monster alias. Perhaps it's the avenging angel aspect of it all-standing up for abused women. The event in the yard seems rushed. It speeds by so suddenly the reader hardly has a chance to know what's going on (and I don't mean the sex-that is quite clear) but the actions of the characters aren't provocative enough to read as real actions even though that's what they are there for. Do the women of this town know who or what Dodie Rae is? Her neighbor's response seems to indicate that they do.

Thank you, AliMom, for this excellent, in-depth review, my friend. This is the kind of feedback necessary for one's growth. Much appreciated. From chapter one, this story has moved along quickly; I think that's me trying not to lose the reader's attention. I slowed this chapter down considerably and will continue to do so with future chapters. When you said, " The actions of the characters aren't provocative enough to read as real actions." that hit home, and actions will be taken to ensure this is implemented.

I think I read one other chapter and this novel. And I think you have a wild imagination and have created a creature that men should be afraid of.
I think a lot of women fantasize about having someone like Dodie to protect all abused and battered women in the world
But the thing I didn't understand was, I guess neither of the men was Clara's husband, Martin. And, according to your cast of characters, Clara is not an abused woman
So I don't understand why she would keep Dodie Rae's secret. It sounds like maybe her husband was renting her out. But I think maybe Ben was the one renting his wife out. I don't understand having read only one chapter in this book
That's a pretty big secret to keep. Your best friend, or maybe she's not her best friend, just happens to turn into a monster and kill men.
