Wendy,
This is a beautiful story to keep this man's memory alive. He did small things to help others. I believe he is set free and living a much better life now.
Thank you for this beautiful story, Wendy.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Beautifully written tribute, Wendy! It seems you and I have been on the same wavelength as we have been contemplating what is truly commendable in the Lord's sight. I'm sure John's crown will be extra sparkly and he will return it back to honor our King!

Thank you Helen. I think we may well be surprised in heaven to see the very humble ones acknowledged and rewarded by Jesus, above those who are more prominent in "good works". Thank you for your insightful review.

Oh yes, that is the greatest compliment that God can do for, merely being what He was, a faithful and obedient servant, an example humility, goodness, and the embodiment of love. beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

What a touching story. I'm glad the community wants to honour John for his work. It's wonderful when someone is remembered for all the good they did for others. Thank you for sharing this story.

Well said, Wendy! I felt, as I was reading this that, perhaps those who walked past, ignoring him will also reflect more deeply once that plaque is erected. He was, indeed, a good and faithful servant, working for the good of the community and, in the end, becoming an institution of goodness in the midst of an often unseeing, preoccupied world. A lovely story, as ever. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Yes, I believe you are right, and I hope that a more understanding attitude will follow, for any other disabled person they meet. They too are worthy of acceptance and acknowledgement. You are right. It is an unseeing and preoccupied world, and hopefully his story will make a difference. Thank you so much for your insightful and caring words.

A bitter sweet poem about John and his kind heart. He probably is in heaven because he was a good person and clean spirit. I like the painting tok.

"He sold pens, a fund-raising activity for the charity" Oh, bless his sweet heart.
"John's body was twisted with cerebral palsy." Oh, such sad, painful imagery.
"in his early seventies, John passed away." May God take and bless his soul. Many don't even make it that far.
"His funeral was attended by several hundred people." Oh, great to see such admiration and appreciation for his life.
"He is missed. There is no one in his place." Hear, hear!
"A memorial plaque will be erected " An excellent idea.

This is a marvelous story about a very humble man. So many in their lives who have difficulties such as John had or never noticed yet they do a lot of good in this world. I wish you the very best with your writing and I do hope that everything will go well with the plaque and remembrance of this man. Patricia.
