A well-expressed chapter in which music and an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment helped Daniel overcome his nerves, at least in that particular instance. Their friendships are well crafted here and credible and the chapter has a feel-good factor which I enjoyed. No errors noted (of course). Thank you, Jim. Take care Debbie

Thank you, Debbie. And now, don't you think it's about time for all this feel-good stuff to come to an end? You know it will in this rollercoaster life of Brian's.

Great!:))

It's amazing what a little great music can do, and anyone who can get a bunch of college kids to pay attention must be great. It's great that Julia and Brian are being so helpful to Daniel.

They truly enjoy Daniel and want to see him be successful.
Yeah, I think Julia is aware of fan favorites and chose just the right songs so the folks would be entertained. If she'd kept up with the highbrow stuff, it wouldn't have been as fun for the kids who stopped by to listen.

It appears Daniel is doing very well with Kimiko. I'm glad things have started to work out for him. I really do like this story and wish things would continue to remain calm, but have a feeling they won't

Finally, some of the coaching from Brian and Julia is sinking in, and he's not sounding like such a fool. Soon, Kimi will realize what a great catch he is.
Yeah, we're getting pretty close now to an event like his car crash when he was 16 that will also have a profound effect on his life and he will wish he could have avoided.
We wouldn't have much of a story, though, without some more trials for Brian and Julia. :-)

And that's the American way! A guy genuinely makes a fool of himself in front of a pretty girl, a later on usually gets involved with said girl.
A little prodding, coaxing and training from Brian helped him out.
A good, fun chapter, Jim.
Cheers,
John

Yeah, I guess we've seen enough movies, including Hallmark movies, that employ this trope, and it's a fun one. Figured I'd add one more to the mix, but it's just a sub-plot and has only minor significance to the story as a whole.

Daniel said he couldn't carry a tune in a briefcase. This is clever and freaking funny. I'm happy Kimi let them in on her nickname and forgave Daniel. This is another great addition to this story, Jim.
God bless,
Steve

Glad you enjoyed it, Steve. Just a bit of amusing diversion from the larger plot which we will get back to in the next chapter.

Nothing wrong with a little humor. Dodie Rae uses it, lol.

Ho-hum save for the songs you named. I had to Deezer them (deemix) for the pleasure oof reviving them. Washerman made me desire aI do a jig but didn't because... I am too damn old.

Good idea. You might break something trying.
I heard a neat YouTube video of these two violin masters playing "The Irish Washerwoman" together, and each time they went through the melody, they played it a little faster. By the end, they were both really flying.

Ah, a very nice feel-good chapter. Once they get used to each other Daniel and Kimi will be great friends. Very nicely written. But I know there's a disaster looming.

Yep. Coming soon to a theater near you. We've had enough of this feel-good stuff for a while. Time to move on with the main plot. What has happened here will have added significance later in the story, though.

Mended hearts and promising futures in this post Jim and I enjoyed your dialogue and the good advice given here, another fine chapter in your tale of romance and the ups and downs of love, love Dolly x

Thanks, Dolly. I hope, though, that I haven't lulled you into thinking this is going to be a romance novel because I wouldn't really characterize it that way. All of my novels feature a certain amount of romance, but that's not going to be the main thrust of this one, although Brian and Julia's romance is certainly an integral part of the story.
As we near the end of part 1 and get into part 2 in a few more chapters there will be some science involved, which I hope I can make interesting enough to make you want to keep reading. It will be interspersed with some purely fun parts too and some rather dark parts.
We're more than halfway through the story now, but buckle up for a rollercoaster ride for the remainder.
