Another very powerful poem about a shameful time in our and other countries' history. I respect your bringing such issues to light, and your ability to clearly state the facts and evoke emotion-- yet do so in excellent rhyme and meter. Like you, the image of the child washed up on the shore made me cry. I hope it will persuade others to read your poem and learn from its message of the impact of intolerance.

A very moving poem with a heart wrenching photo to drive your message home.
People travel thousands of miles to flee war, persecution and poverty starving and many die on the way.
Yet, many forget to be our brothers keeper.
Powerful words.

I thank you so much for thinking this is a powerful poem. If I change my mind, I think I've been successful because that one mind may change other minds.
Thank you for your lovely words and for the extra stars and I appreciate both very much

This poem is very heartbreaking and makes me sad that do many innocent people died. I do believe history can and will repeat itself. You did an amazing job writing this poem.

Very sad. I'm almost at a loss for words.
This photo is enough to make anyone cry, well except for our politicians in office.
A sad state of affairs
A very fine post.

Hi Pam,
A very sad poem which depicts the harsh truth and treatment suffered by
so many people and shameful in our modern world.
No criticism from me as I feel you've captured this truth perfectly with respect, sadness and honesty.
Blessings

Between the heart-wrenching picture and your unflinching words I may need a bit to get myself together. I don't recognize America anymore and I don't understand the cruelty of so many of our politicians and citizens. I pay for a big change to come soon.

if I believed in reincarnation, I would have trump, Governor Abbott and a few other people come back as poor who have lost everything and are fleeing war stricken countries and other life threatening conditions and we won't let them in. we deport them back to die
Thank you for your poignant yet lovely review and for the shiny stars both are greatly appreciated

If it made you cry, just try and imagine how it made God the creator of man, and he and his son Christ Jesus who love the children, imagine how it mad him feel. We will answer for our ignorance and ill treatment of the innocent.

Thank you for your appointment and accurate observations. I have another poem that I may publish about change migration. I'll leave you to think about who it
the most beneficial to
It's a little bit bit long, but I can't delete any of the stanzas because they are all needed to understand the phone.
But one of the verses talks about the southern border and it says
if Jesus came here from the south

Sad but spot on. A powerful poem with a strong message. Thanks for sharing. I am not sure how the refugee situation will improve but we do need to not turn away.
Take care and have a wonderful day.

Very moving. You capture the horror of the refugee plight. It is particularly moving because of the smooth way the poem flows and your reminder that "we can't be bothered with the fuss." I also like that you bring in history. What is happening now is not the first time.

Yes, Satan is having a field day in this world we have today.
And it's mostly the wealthy that are evil ones and a lot of politicians. Thank you for your lovely comments and excellent rating
