I thought this was really entertaining to read. I must admit, golf bores the hell out of me, my Dad used to try and get me into it but there's nothing I find more boring. I really enjoyed reading your piece though and I thought you conveyed your personality and your friends really well. An excellent piece.

Hi Terry,
I assume the whiskey pictured here is rather expensive. I don't drink whiskey and wouldn't know rot gut from good. I've never golfed either. It never appealed to me, plus it's expensive, and unless you're really good, you can't make any money at it. I caught the only tarpon I've ever caught in the salt water golf course pond in Key West. My first class petty officer was considered a pro, so they let him fish the pond. He had a crush on my wife, so he took me with him. Thanks for sharing this entertaining story.
Have a blessed evening.

Tom, that's a good story. Maybe do a story and your most memorable fishing catches. Terry.

I don't know a thing about golf other than the names of the major tournaments, and that's because I watch the news. However, I appreciated your description of the major players, and enjoyed reading your humorous texts. Yay, your guy won the Gold.

Author,
I love this story. I watch golf occasionally; my dad was an avid golfer -- racked up 2 holes in one in his career. He stopped going out on the golf course at age 92. He has a golf club carved on his grave stone!
Your excellent story gives a glimpse into the great sport of golf.
Thank you for the smile.
Best wishes, Cindy

This piece was great fun to read! It's heartwarming to think of a friendship that goes on in interesting ways. The dialogue was right on, and the ending made me laugh. Well done!

Terry, the only thing that would've made this story better would be drinking Kanichee XO Rum, which is one of my personal favorites.
This was a fun, humorous read. Thanks for sharing with us.
Cheers,
John

I found this story amusing and interesting even though I no longer drink and have never had a particular interest in golf, neither to watch it or play it. Your skill at telling a story and to keep it interesting throughout however, is unmatched. So, I had no choice but to read on until the end.
By the by, the advice given could be of use if it becomes a problem.

A fun and witty story of golf, friendship and a betting game that seems to have got the better of you. I love self-deprecating humour. It's the best and this doesn't disappoint. Well done, Terry! Debbie

A great story with your familiar wry wit.
The only thing that would make golf entertaining enough to hold my attention for 18 holes would be the betting and camaraderie!
You may be down two bottles of whiskey, but you have a winning friendship!
