Hi Pat, a poem of spiritual reflection. There are some things in life that we should never forget, and Christ hanging on the Cross should remain at the top of that list. Well done; well expressed - soulful. Xo. Margaret

Amen, Patricia,
Let us never forget the cross and the sacrifice that brought us all freedom from sin, if only we will reach out to that cross and to the Savior who gave His life, for us all.

God bless,
Rhonda

Very vividly expressed and presented poem. I do not actually think that people forget. I think it is more about their ignoring the reality of it.
I think that the reminders of such a reality have become, perhaps not deliberately, a ritualistic part of Christianity, that has the opposite effect on many people. They have become insensitized by its repetation from pastors and preachers who use it in correctly, but do not show it in action.
Thanks for sharing

The powerful message you convey about sacrifice and redemption is deeply moving. Your concise expression effectively communicates the gravity of the subject with just a few impactful lines. The memorable imagery of the "old rugged cross of Calvary" paints a vivid and poignant picture.

One quick suggestion might be to add a bit more detail or description to enhance the imagery. For example, expanding on the scene or the emotions surrounding the cross could provide additional depth. everybody knows the story, but I think maybe for the sake of the poem pretend they don't... just a thought

Overall, your poem beautifully captures a profound message. Thank you for sharing it, and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Thank you so much, my dear sister for this lovely review and for the comments that you had to make. When I think of Jesus staying on that cross, I think of the agony that he suffered for you and me and it makes me understand that my agony on earth is nothing compared to what he did when he saved my soul. Patricia.
