Marilyn Hamilton is someone I follow that I find gifted and clever. You likely have read her, and would enjoy her if not.

Poor Charles, the tester, was being tested and failed. LOL. Or maybe it was just one of those senior moments. But don't let them sell you on that. Seniors aren't the only one's who have those moments. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. No seniors are the only ones with those moments. I'm having my own moments with hearing when there is background noise. I could admit I'm a senior, but I prefer to blame tinnitus which I had since my thirties.

I've actually heard that one before but it's a good one and fits perfectly into your 75 word flash. Great image to go with it too. Good luck, Beth! Take care Debbie

Thanks Debbie, I heard a longer story once something like it too but I'm sure in retelling it I've changed it up. I don't remember the details and getting anything into 75 words is a challenge.

Whoops! Charles was the one with the hearing problem not his wife. LOL So cute and definitely something that can happen to all of us as we age. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Carol. I'm glad you liked it. Yes, the hearing thing is already of one of my problems, especially in places with background noise.

This short flash fiction is well written and humorous. Your first sentence introduces Charles and describes his goal. The story smoothly progresses to an unexpected ending. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

An excellent entry for the 75 Words Flash Fiction contest. This was a perfect flash story with a surprising twist at the end as we've come to expect. Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Marilyn. I'm glad you like this. I trying to learn to do flashes but coming up with something to write about that I get into so few words is a challenge.

I love this one. The punch line is the best! The dialogue is real, it could be my husband and I, except he already has hearing aids and I need to get some. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Verna. I'm so glad you liked this one. I'm having a problem with my hearing too. It is especially difficult to hear with background noise.

Beth, this was not only cute, it was really funny. I knew from the beginning there was going to be some kind of a twist and for some reason, I didn't see that twist coming. I do think you've touched on something that brought out realism in your Flash fiction prompt. It is easier, much of the time, to see an area of deficiency and someone else quicker than we see it in our self. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you so much for the review on my flash. I really appreciate your comments. Yes it is easier to see others problem than it is to see you own.

LOL! That's cute! And it's very believable. These days, I have to go and stand in front of Hubby to see if he's really listening and can hear me. Otherwise, he'll say he didn't hear! Hope this does well in the contest!

Thank you Helen. With men it they have the uniquer ablity to tune women's voices out. SInce then don't multitask like wormen, I'm not sure they have the ability to think and listen at the same time. LOL

Hah! Hilarious. I love it. And in only seventy-five words. Very nicely done.
Now all I have to do is repeat all that three more times for FanStory to allow me to send it.
Good luck in the contest.
