Oh yeah... a plate of chocolate brownies, without chocolate icing and a glass of cold milk ( really cold), and I can make a significant amount of vacancy on that plate.
I think you can tell, brownies are one of my favorites ...
Cheers,
John

LOL! This is fun and funny and ohhhhh so true. I do get the munchies late at night especially when I can't get to sleep. I think if I just have one, I will be satisfied and go right to sleep and sometimes, I do and sometimes, I just eat the whole thing. (smiling) Sooooo good.
Blessings

Ah, temptation! This is a great entry for the contest. I fear I would be similarly tempted being a chocoholic and, once begun, it's so hard to stop. I enjoyed your poem very much--and now I want brownies. Well done!

I can understand because Brownies rock in the chocolate department. Rich, fudgy and moist. Mine are gluten free but they're still deliciousoso! Your neighbors loved the sugar cookies, I'm sure. I wish I lived closer, Cookie. :))
Sending you my best today as always, and by very best wishes for the temptation poetry contest.

Thank you for your super review. I had not even thought of gluten-free brownies, but I ought to try those sometime.

Hi Crystie,
This is a cute poem that tells us about the perils of having chocolate around the house. At least the speaker baked cookies as a replacement for the brownie she ate. She must of been sick if she ate a whole batch of brownies in one sitting.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck with the contest.
Have a great day.

Thank you for your super review. I ended up eating the smaller plate of brownies to give away, not the larger plate.

My pleasure, Crystie. Well, that?s better.

Sugar cookies for brownies? How can you compare? =) Your poem hits the chord. Many of us, I believe have this dilemma. As the ad for chips go: You just can't eat one. This poem is perfect for the Temptation Poetry Contest. Best of luck.

Diet or not, let there be chocolate of any kind in my house and it's screaming my name. I try to shut it out, but I can't until it's gone. So I relate to this story very well. If I should make something for the neighbor, it better be delivered immediately or they'll never see it.

I have never eaten a chocolate brownie - but, found this to be a funny, quirky and mouth-watering poem, simple and well constructed. I enjoyed reading it.

lol we can all relate! I've substituted gifts many times myself when I sampled my goodies to see if they were up to par and was nott quite sure until they were all gone!

Yep, this happens more often than I would like. I tell the grocery store cashiers, "I buy one treat to eat and one to give away." Thanks for reading and commenting!

This poem, The Brownies that Weren't There, presents the scenario of every diet's downfall -- brownies. Better to eat them now than give them to others and then like those people less.
